While everyone would love to sign either Aldridge or Gasol, what if we alternatively signed:

1.  Danny Green SG/SF - 7 Million a season for 4 years  - Has won several rings.  3 pt clutch shooter and good defender

2.  Ed Davis       PF/C - 4.5 Million a season for 3 years - Has added enough weight to guard some centers.  Explosive , above the rim athlete. Good shot blocker and rebounder when focused.  Former lotto pick

On Draft night pick
16. Jerian Grant - PG/SG- 6'5 score 1st pg.  good athlete. Clutch shooter.
28. Chris Mcculough - PF- 6'10 explosive PF. Due to injury and so so season drops. High Ceiling
33. Jarell Martin - PF/SF -6'10 explosive for size player.  Some compare him to T. Harris
45. George Lucas De Paula (draft and stash) - PG/SG - 6'5 and has a Reggie Jackson like wingspan (6'10 plus).  Explosive player but is very young. Draft and stash pick

Trade
Evan Turner for player (waived) and 2 future 2nd round picks

Starting lineup
C-   Zeller
PF-  Olynyk
SF - Danny Green
SG - Smart
PG - Jerian Grant

Bench
C - Ed Davis
PF - Sullinger
SF - Crowder
SG - AB
PG - IT

Extras
Young
Wallace
Pressey
Martin
Mcculough

No to Danny Green.  If you think that Bradley is limited...

I also like how you've classified James Young as an 'extra', lol. ;D

Mmm...no

Right now, Evan turner is probably better than both of those guys :/

Ed Davis has been pretty bust, and Green seems to be more or less a one-trick pony.  I'd honestly rather keep our current guys and save money then go after scraps like that.

Could see Toronto going for both of these guys. Less so the Celtics.

I think that's fair.

Young gets a lot of love here, but so far that's been mostly unjustified.  Aside from tearing up the D-League (which Fab Melo, Phil Pressey and Dionte Christmas also did) he's still a very raw project, and at this point there's no telling if he'll ever be more then an E'Twaun Moore calibre player - actually Moore did more in his Rookie season then Young has so far.

I'd love to see Young do well, but I'm also realistic!

Why not?  We need to add scorers that can score late and an above the rim pf/c.   Really need to add a legit rim protector , at least someone that can come off the bench

How is Danny Green "limited"? He is not a play maker, but is a more versatile defender than AB, can play 2/3, better rebounder, passer and shooter, blocks shots and gets steals.

He is one of the best all-around players outside allstars and better than some allstars IMHO. He was nearly the finals MVP 2 years ago...

I think that they'd both be reasonable targets, although I wouldn't be surprised to see Danny use our cap space as a way of acquiring more assets via other teams looking to dump short-term contracts (like the Zeller + pick trade).

Lost me on starting Grant over AB..

With that said the signings or Davis and Green would not be bad. Green would have to be brought in to play (thought slightly undersized) starting SF. This only happens if BS and DA think Marcus is prepared for more primary ball handler duties. Davis may be an option. To me PF and C will be the biggest question marks of the off season and the questions may not be answered this summer. Out of KO, Sully and Zeller do the Cs really have 1 or 2 long term starters? If not who is best suited to play the 3rd big role? What happens to Jerebko and Bass? Alot for DA to figure out. I personally think out of KO and Sully one guy needs to become the 3rd big and the other needs to be moved for a superior athlete. While he is never going to be an allstar I think Zeller is fine for now as the Cs 20-25 MPG starting center. I personally still like the idea of moving Sully and the necessary picks to make a run at Faried. He isn't an ideal fit on offense but as long as Zeller continues to improve his jump shot I think it can work. I am really high on Sully but fear that his health/conditioning issues will only get worse and the Cs will some day soon be forced to pay him big money or let him walk. I would rather be proactive and try to bring in a player locked up long term who will provide energy and hustle to the PF position.

For how many more seasons can he do this? We need to start becoming more competitive now

We're already competitive.  What we need to do is become contenders.  Guys like Green and Davis aren't enough to do that.  If Danny would rather use the cap space for additional assets that might eventually land us a difference maker, I'm on board.

Why would we want Gerald Green and Glenn Davis?!  ;D

We have Green and Davis right now and we would have a better chance to beat the cavs.

Green hitting threes when nobody can hit a shot late in the 4th. Davis playing the 4th, getting lebron to think twice before driving in.

They would make us better.  We'd still be a lower-tier playoff seed, though.
