If the bulls fail again
Too many injuries... too many questions... but a crazy one:
rose for thomas bradley sully crowder and this years two first rounders
we get a star when healthy.. they get someting to rebuild with butler mirotic and noah as cornerstones
i like the rose smart duo

No interest. I don't think he is worth taking a chance on.

D-Rose is nowhere near where he was before the injuries. His defense has been bad all season (v.good defender before the injury). Just doesn't have the lateral quickness anymore. He has some explosion still on offense but he is picking his spots more and more. Consequently, not capable of being the main man on a team anymore. Will be more comfortable as a 3rd/4th option.

Rose was physically overwhelming for every PG in the league (except Westbrook) before he got hurt. He doesn't have that anymore and he was always the type of player who relied heavily on his athleticism. He has lost a huge amount of his on-court value.

Not worth the cost of acquisition (trade package + contract).

If I were going to do a deal with the Bulls, I'd be more interested in using a trade exception to absorb Taj Gibson's contract so they can pay Jimmy Butler than I would be in acquiring Rose.

Honestly, Deron Williams is probably a better bet than Rose at this point.

You have to look at Rose like a 35 year old player.  In a limited role he could be good for you at the right price.  Unfortunately he's still being paid like a superstar for a few years.

Rose has been tearing up the Bucks and looks pretty good.  I'd do that trade if we kept Thomas and swapped KO for Sullinger.  Also, Crowder can't be traded before the draft which is when Chicago would want to do it so I'd add Young.  I see nothing wrong with giving up role players and mid to late 1st round picks on a gamble for Rose.  Rose is a much better draw for free agents than anyone else on the team alone.  And if he can stay even remotely healthy, it will be a huge boon.

so my final version of trade

Rose

for

Bradley, Olynyk, Young, Wallace (for salary), 16, 28

Basically trading a bunch of role players for a chance at a superstar.  Trade could be modified slightly of course, but I like that trade and would have no issue pulling the trigger on it.  Upside to the trade is just too high and even if Rose gets hurt and never plays again, I'm not sure anyone would really be crying foul on it.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I don't think it is a wise gamble, as the odds are stacked against us.  I hate to call a guy injury prone but it fits in this case.
