why the constant hate on Rondo ? He helped us win a title and was an all-star for the majority of the time he was here . He never demanded a trade , and had some really great moments with us .

Let it go

Agree. TP.  It was time to part ways, that's it.

Danny snookered Mark Cuban.

Which I love.

If you actually watched the game, Rondo played great. The rest of the Mavs on the other hand. Not so much.

Stop boxscore watching and start watching actual games.

As Ice Cube said, "check yourself before you wreck yourself"

Your definition of "played great" is flawed. He played ok, but was nowhere near the Rondo we had seen vs the Heat years ago in the playoffs. That Rondo doesn't exist anymore.

I was comparing him to the rest of the Maverick roster, compared to them he played great,
He was making plays, driving to the hoop and making jumpshots.
Compared to them he played great, nowhere near "playoff Rondo" but he didn't play bad as OP is making him out to be.
He also played pretty good defense on Harden even though he was giving up 4" and 30lbs.

I stopped liking Rondo's game when he stopped doing the little things that made him special (i.e. Defense, Rebounds, Run, Steals, spunk).  That's the Rondo that helped win a Championship.

...was never a fan of "Assist leader" Rondo.

Minor quibble but at the time of the trade Rondo was clocking 8 rebounds again. Other than that I'm stumped as to why this particular ex-Celic is worth so much attention.

And you know this from the one whole playoff game Rondo's played since then?

It might hurt you to learn that per-36, Rondo is averaging 5+ points more than he ever has in the playoffs, and only 3.4 less assists.  Maybe give him a second to see if the rest of his game will catch up to his scoring?

David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

1. Probably watch the game instead of the box score
2. How can you determine how a person will be in the playoffs after 1 game..if that's the case the entire Mavs are DONE cuz they sucked.
3. We have a team that's playing today..why focus on Rondo.
4. If Rondo has a "playoff Rondo" game I gurantee most of you won't say a peep on this forum.

i don't think we got all that much from the trade, honestly. Now, if we landed some of the trade ideas going on around here last year, then it would've been a great trade.

But Rondo played well in game1. Mavs are still going to lose the series to the Rockets though.

Bro. Let it go.

You probably didn't even watch that game. He was doing very well, especially in the 2nd when they caught up to Houston and eventually tied the game before the second half. He actually had a better game than Monta Ellis despite what the +/- suggests.

rondo is the least of dallas' problems.

their sieve-like defense is the real issue.

look at that roster, pretty much everybody except tyson chandler and rondo are bad defenders. ellis, parsons, stoudemire, barea, nowitzki, villanueva...

they're a bunch of stiffs at the defensive end.

Also, Dirk Nowitzki kept turning the ball over. Kept passing to the wrong guys, he had like 5 or 6 turnovers that game.

Yes he scored a bunch of points but half of those points Jason Terry or a smaller player was guarding him.
