What a bum Pierce is.  He looks slimmer than ever before

I agree about the bum part. But he is slimmer. He said it himself.

I only say the bum part bc why didn't he put in the effort to come in that kind of shape when he was here??

He looked very good tonight

Joking, right? Paul Pierce didnīt care about conditioning while playing for the C`s? When he won the finals MVP? He was a bum before he played for the Wiz?

caring and going over the top after different stories

Why is he slim/fit now vs last few seasons with the Celts?

He was good even looking pudgy before, but he would of been better if he was as slim/fit as now

Okay dude... come on now you're reaching...

Pierce himself has said he had to slim down, because of his age. And no, I actually don't think Pierce would be better if he was as slim or fit as he was back then... Pierce wasn't no lightweight small forward. Pierce used his body when posting up, and his smart basketball IQ/ability to create space.

When you call Pierce a bum on this site you know full well that the entire blog will reject your oppinion. When someone trashes pierce they are either
a) an opposing fan trolling on here
b) looking for attention
c) looking to drum up a controversy/fight on C's Blog

Paul Pierce is an all time Celtic great, who carried this team for long long stretches in his career both before and during the Big 3 era. He was never fleet of foot so he used his weight to create space etc.

Now having read that I believe I speak for all C's fans when I say, Paul Pierce is a living legend... bum? really? Paul Pierce didnt do enough for this franchise?

I will say that knowing triboy for the past few years, that he is none of that.

He speaks his mind, and at times it may or may not be incorrect. But that's why we all have opinions. I don't agree with his at times, but its all part of joining a forum.

Pierce is one of my favourite Celtics of all time. But it does not mean he gets a "pass" for everything he does, says

these days i'm not happy with him

1) telling the "truth" as he calls it, about previous teammates (Deron Williams, Ray Allen etc.) .  Keep these things inside the locker room.  Making Allen look bad for example does not result in anything.  It just feeds the "gossip".  Stirs things up , for what?

2) not sure if it's to get into the Raptors head but disrespecting their team before the playoffs is not professional . Again must the "truth".   It's not just about Pierce but I dislike any players that I like talking trash to their opponents. Especially if it could backfire on you (example Luongo talking trash about Tim Thomas, did nothing but ignite the Bruins). Not smart

3)  I disagree with most of you.  Pierce was sluggish the last several years as a Celtic.  He looked "aged" , performance was down especially on the defensive end.  I wish he was at his "best" when he was here. I mean enough fans were asking that he shape/slim up, become quicker. Some defended him by stating that he can't get any more fit, that is how you age. Well they were wrong.

If you feel that strongly about points 1 and 2 that you just made, then you must not have liked Paul Pierce his entire career, because thats who he is.

If thats your opinion then thats fine, but dont act like this behavior from him just popped up these last few years.

As for point #3, the numbers dont agree with you.  Even if they did, theyd be marginal at best.  Im from the DC area and they were killing Pierce mid to late this year because his play had disappeared on the court and started saying that he was playing his age.

These are you same gripes about Pierce his last year or two in Boston.  Nothings changed except the fact you clearly hadnt followed him at all this year and just watched him play well in one play off game and want to be all salty about it

Pierce is being utilized the way he should be at this stage of his career.

sure he still has the ability to be the man, but if any team tried to ride on his shoulders at his age he would not be as effective as what we see.

You're right. The Wizards are using him the right way and it's paying dividends.

That was a great performance from Pierce last night. It's amazing he's still able to do damage at his age. I love watching him play. One of my favorite Celtics of all time.

.... Paul Pierce would be awesome in the Evan Turner role in the Brad Stevens system.   ;D

Hopefully Danny can find a way to get PP to retire as a Celtic.

I'm fine with letting Pierce finish out his playing days on teams with a chance at going far in the playoffs and then welcoming him back in a front office role when he retires.

They can have him retire as a Celtic on a 10-day for ceremony's sake.

Pierce was just amazing last night. If it wasn't for his scoring in the 2nd quarter and his clutch play in OT, the Wizards would surely have lost that one. I kept wondering why Randy Wittman didn't run any plays for him in the 4th quarter when the Raptors were clawing at their lead, opting instead to let Beal and Wall brick several mid-range jumpers (those two shot a combined 11-of-41!!!).

It's just great to see that Pierce can still back up his trash talk by delivering a clutch performance. Even at his age, he's still the Truth. I hope Danny can sign him next year.
