Well if Curry is hurt
Just hand LeBron the trophy .
This was my first thought. Boy, if the Cavs get to face a Curry-less Warriors team in the Finals, Cleveland will have been gifted one of the easiest title runs in NBA history.
"Gifted" probably isn't the right word, since they're playing without their second and third best players.
I hope Curry is fine for the Finals. It is frustrating, though: the Finals could have been epic if both the Warriors and Cavs were at full strength.
Well, this is my thinking:
1) First-round opponent: A Celtics team that basically overachieved and had no stars, and the Cavs had Irving the whole series and Love for most of the series.
2) Semifinals opponent: A Chicago team that had a cooked Noah, injured Gasol, and a head coach who (in my opinion) made a lot of questionable decisions, especially in regard to rotations and player minutes. Cavs had Irving for 95% of the series.
3) Eastern finals opponent: A Hawks team whose particular brand of starless team ball has been exposed in this postseason, not to mention missed games by two of their best players (Carroll and Korver). In fact, the Cavs' success in this series
despite missing Love
and Irving shows just how lacking this Hawks team is.
