Is it just me or should the media be making a bigger deal of how Cuban and Dallas have just wasted the last 4 years of Dirk?  They won a title and instead of bringing the core of that team back, Cuban instead let major pieces of that team just walk away.

I mean, Jason Terry and Tyson Chandler are still playing on playoff teams 4 years later.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
did anyone else catch Howard calling Tyson Chandler a P*(sy Azz N*&% when Chandler flopped with about  5 mins 40 left (as Howard went to bench). lol
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Weren't they trying to get in on FA frenzy but flopped and only got Ellis  (who actually resurged). Kind of like Rockets this past off season.

I miss playoff Rondo..

Man, it would have to be so frustrating to coach him knowing his potential greatness (playoff Rondo) when he only plays like that 1/3 to 1/2 of the time. And it's seemingly an effort/motivation thing rather than him just having some big nights every now and then.
"Playoff Rondo" was always contingent on him getting 43 minutes a night.  Play him 43 minutes a night, let him control the ball 99% of the time, and he'll still put up big stats.

We would've been so much better off playing the Hawks, but at least this might wear down the Cavs enough to make them weak enough to get knocked off in the next two rounds.

I hope Memphis and Portland can put some life in the West playoffs. They have been kind of a dud so far with Golden State and Houston tromping all over New Orleans and Dallas.  I don't think LAC will fare well against San Antonio. I think the Clippers dodgy supporting cast will be their undoing.

Happy to see Atlanta get off to opening day win against Brooklyn. I really do not want to see Cleveland make it out of the West. Such an unlikeable team.

CJ McCollum vs Courtney Lee will be an interesting matchup. McCollum a much more dynamic offensive player. Not much of a defender but C-Lee is not really the type to exploit that. It'll be interesting to see if McCollum can give Portland an advantage over Lee.

Randolph doing a beautiful job making Aldridge work in the paint. Fighting for everything. Hard cuts, battling for post position, fighting for rebounds, hustling for 50-50 balls.

Cleveland is the last bastion of the vaunted isolation play.

I agree, here's hoping the Hawks knock them off.

Or the Bulls.  I'd be thrilled to see the Bulls make a run with a mostly healthy Rose, Butler, Gasol, and Noah.

Courtney Lee out-smarting McCollum so far. Caught McCollum ball-watching twice. Got a layup off a lovely cut. Hit a wide open three from the corner. Drew a shooting foul on an off the dribble pull up from 18 feet using that Reggie Miller stick your leg out move. McCollum had one nice hoop but otherwise has been quiet.

Not a good start for McCollum.

Is Mike Conley better than Damien Lillard?

Conley plays better defense. Better floor general and playmaker.
Lillard a better scorer.

I wish Portland had better luck with their health through the years.  From Oden to Roy (even though he had red flags) back in the day to Matthews and Afflalo this year - even LMA's left thumb injury, which he's delayed surgery for.  I always liked their teams.

I didn't think that this series would even be close.  They just don't match up all that well with Memphis.

Lillard's been grossly exposed this year.
