I'm excited about the playoffs but an idea just struck me.

I'm concerned that Brooklyn will be too mediocre because they have 0 incentive to tank. Because of this reason the Brooklyn 2016 is worth much more to Brooklyn than anyone else.

I really like Plumlee and I see Thad young as a very solid player. Add in the #12 pick which would potentially allow us to move up and maybe he a Stanley Johnson. This to me makes sense for us because we get a promising young center, a solid 3, and an opportunity to draft a good SF in this draft. For Brooklyn they lose Plumlee but It lets them start over with a high pick and all
The cap clearing up going into a big cap/fa year.

For us:
Smart thomas
Bradley young
T Young s Johnson
Sullinger Olynyk
Zeller Plumlee

I'm not sure how I feel about the deal and I'm not sure if Brooklyn does it but I thought I it so I thought id see what you guys thought.

Obviously the playoffs are the primary concern rn but I thought is throw it out there.

Thad Young has an early termination option for next year and so isn't trade eligible.

ATL owns the right to swap with Brooklyn this year, so they have pick 29, not 12 making that a bit less appealing,  unfortunately.

Meh I think they're both average players and I'd rather have the picks.  We've got role players coming out of our ears

I'm with Q here -- I don't think either Thad or Mason is an especially great player, though they're both fine.  The Celtics really don't need more "just fine" players with not much chance of becoming anything better.

Better to keep the Nets' 2016 pick in the hopes that the team really goes off the rails next year.
