I tried to go for ten and couldn't. I have some notes. I'll get into it here and there

1 Brady
2 J Hannah
3 Troy Brown
4 Ben Coates
5 A Viniateri
6 Gronk
7 Revis
8 T Bruschi
9 Vince Wilfork
10 Drew Bledsoe
11 Ty Law
12 M Vrable
13 Bruce Armstrong
14 Dan Koppen
15 Steve Grogan
16 Andre Tippet
17 Malcolm Butler/Browner combo. I cannot separate them
18 Rodney Harrison
19 Kevin Faulk
20 Julian Edelmen

I think I need to revise. Tippet should be up around 12.

Ben Coates was one of my favorite players but he seems way too high he. He only 1 season above 1000 yards and two seasons above 67 catches. I know passing back then wasn't what it is today (although Bledsoe once through 70 attempts in a game), but those are really good numbers rather than great. It was also really weird how he completely fell off a cliff at age 28. I don't remember him having any injuries, but I was a lot younger. What happened?

Also I am a bit confused by the list. Is it by the greatest to play for the patriots even if it was only for a season or two? Or the greatest contributions to the Patriots organization. This list seems like a mix of both as Revis obviously only played 1 season here.

If you are doing the first kind of list than Moss and Welker probably had two of the best seasons in Patriots receiving history. Welker may belong either way because he was dominant for a bit of an extended stretch. Willie McGinest has to be on their regardless of what type of list it is.

The "old" patriots aren't represented and they really don't have much to offer when you see all of the super bowls.

Jim Nance
Carl Garrett
Mike Haynes
Houston Antwine
Hunt
Cappelletti
Nick Buoniconti
Ray Hamilton
Stanley Morgan
Ray Clayborn

All of my heroes growing up.
These guys deserved mention for surviving Billy Sullivan

Sorry to go OT, but, without this bunch? No AFL franchise playing out next to Eddie's trotter track.

I won't put them in order but

Gino Cappeletti
Jim Nance
Nick Buoniconti
Houston Antwine
John Hannah
Steve Grogan
Steve Nelson
Leon Gray
Curtis Martin
Drew Bledsoe
Stanley Morgan
Russ Francis
Tom Brady
Willie McGinest
Vince Wilfork
Mike Haynes
Ty Law
Bruce Armstrong
Adam Vinatieri
Troy Brown

Ben Coates if someone thinks putting Vinatieri in there isn't right.

Quick thoughts:

-Koppen should get thrown out

-Butler/Browner combo has no place on this list

-Revis shouldn't make the cut.  Only one season as a Pat.

-Welker belongs (Moss would be an interesting debate, though)

-Edelman doesn't belong

-I'm not quite sure how I feel about Kevin Faulk on the list.

-Coates & Troy Brown are too high

-Curtis Martin should be, at least, borderline.

-Cappeletti is definitely top 20

Nick was one of my favorite Dolphin players ....he was on the perfect season team ....I didn't even remenber him being a Patriot ..they had so few stars in 1972

A couple quick notes

2004 is a typical Patriots season

Peyton Manning won the MVP. Tom Brady won a ring.

Troy Brown had the 2nd most....interceptions...for the Pats.

Troy Brown has the most punt return yards and 9th most kick return yards for the Pats

He has the third most receiving yards in team history (Ben Coats is fifth) but he has more rings than the two guys in front of him combined, one of which can't use the excuse "didn't play with Brady".

He made the total hero play to strip the ball from the Chargers in the finals seconds resulting in a recovery by Reche Caldwell sending the team to the AFC championship game.

He has the 2nd most receptions in team history and was basically the 3rd string QB in 2006.

Contrast him with Welker.  Brown has 3 rings. Welker has big drops. Troy Brown got the job done better than any Pats WR.

That's a little how I ranked this. Who did their job?

Not a Pats fan, but Sam "Bam" Cunningham and Raymond Clayborn also come to mind.  Steve Nelson, also.

No way for Cunningham BUT Mike Haynes would have to be top 10

It's a very competitive list.

The way I looked at it cuts had to be made and if you were a guy that wanted to be paid more than you wanted rings you didn't make this list.

If you played a bunch of years with Brady but didn't win a ring you didn't make this list.

That eliminated Welker, Damian Woody, Moss, Mankins, Lawyer Milloy, and I wasn't even thinking of Seymour, but he would also qualify.

Now in terms of Patriots players significant others....I gotta go with Mrs. Wilfork over Gisele and Gronk's Skank #32 Before Breakfast.

I'm not counting Myra Kraft. Obviously she would be #1.

Definitely I heavy old school heavy list.  I love it!  Gotta have Andre Tippett on there if we're going that rite (or any route)
