Christian Wood - UNLV Sophomore
6'11, 7'2 Wingspan, 220lbs
15.7 pts, 10 rbs, 2.7 blks averages

Pros:
Extremely long, lanky PF with quick hops
Fantastic rim protector and rebounder
Good ball-handler for a big
Finishes well, decent jumpshot with quick and high release
73% FT shooter

Cons:
Rail thin, though gained 30+ lbs since graduating high school
Turnover/foul prone
Questionable shot selection - still needs to improve jumpshot
Lacked consistent competition in college

Not many videos on him but i've included below

Breakdown of Christian vs James Webb of Boise St: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8CEh-bypIY

Even at the end of the game, we lined up in different formation that he hadn't seen and he called out our play before I got the ball. I heard him calling it out. -John Wall on Brad Stevens

I think he would be a very good pick with the LA selection, I think it is a good gamble to invest in young long athletic players.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

He is not going to be available with the 2nd 1st

Look at the season he had plus upside. 15-20 bound pick

I think he's worth to risk on this kid because he can be an inside out threat and his upside is really high. I think that he wouldn't be hard to improve the weaknesses of the kid and he's a rim protector.
He reminds me of a Anthony Davis type of body.

Then why not just pick him with our current 15th pick? But i guess its a question of "Do we want an immediate contributor or a development project with the 15th pick?

Most of the mocks have him right around where the Clippers pick will be.

Mocks are rarely correct. Especially around 15 and into the 2nd round

I think that we should swing for the fences with that pick.

If we get a big with our own pick, I like RJ Hunter.

If we get a wing with our own pick, I'd take a shot on Upshaw. High risk, but potentially high reward.

Agree 100% on the "swing for the fences" philosophy.  We don't need another role player.  Either a bust or a hidden gem is the appropriate target.

Anybody know anything about Chris McCullough?

Based on his NBADraft profile (i know i know most people don't like the site) I like what I see. He looks like an athletic big that can hold his own on both sides of the floor even if he needs a good amount of development and some more strength. His game looks good for that spot in the draft however.

He should stay another year

Prob wont be drafted in the 1st round. Didnt have a great season plus season ending injury.  Has world class athleticism and can dunk over anyone pretty much. Decent shooting touch and handles for size. Has ways to go still. I would take a risk on him with 76ers 2nd

I have been a fan of his for a while.

I think as the draft gets closer and closer Wood will rise up and move his way up the draft boards to the point where he will not be available with the Clippers pick.  Depending on who else is there I would take him with the Celtics pick (assuming they are picking 15th).
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

Jujuan Johnson was the same size after his senior year of college that Wood is now. Wood has much more room to bulk up.

Wood is a more skilled player than JJJ.  Also has broader shoulders

Big man with narrow shoulders tend to not do well in the nba unless they can bulk up considerably. Like joakim noah was able to do
