Various teams offered the Celtics a low first-round pick and expiring contracts for Celtics guard Avery Bradley, but the team refused to part with the guard, sources told Grantland.com.

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge likes Bradley's ability to defend and hit the 3-point shot and considers him a part of the future.

In 70 games, Bradley is averaging 14.1 points and 3.1 rebounds.

Low first round picks, and expiring contracts...

Not like we don't got a million of those..

Now if teams were offering 2 first round picks, I hope Danny would've considered it.

Highly doubt that... I would be willing to bet 25 TP's that doesn't ever happen.

i dont think anyone offers 2 first rounders for bradley
usually that price goes to a star player or we have to get back a large contract that is simply not worth it

bradley would be worth a 15-20 first rounder and maybe a young player/veteran on a cheap contract
but i still would rather keep him as he could be like a 6th man type player for us if we were a contender
A guy that can drive, hit the spot up shots and bring defensive energy back when our starters rest

If Kyle "F" ing Korver can make it to an All Star Game , than Bradley can make it. HE just needs the right situation and team....obviously.

The premise I am operating on is that "low first round pick" means 25-30 range, as opposed to potential lottery pick.
If it is the former, I think Ainge hangs up the phone. Sometimes we here on Cblog have on our green glasses, but honestly in the case of Bradley it seems like many people have the "anti-green" glasses on. Just wait until you see the contracts handed out over the next two years. They will make you blush. Seriously.
Celtics fan for life.

I was going to go hard on Danny when i saw the title  of the thread, then i saw the offers.

AB is still getting better offensively and has always been a top defender. From what appears to be the direction the build is taking, I expect AB to be here. I think he has grown leadership wise since Green and Rondo went. Rather have him playing with the C's than against them.

I liked the idea of dumping Bradley's contract and getting a 1st.  He's not that good and the money can probably be better spent on the free agent market.  But once we committed money to Thomas that cut into our cap space, it kinda put a damper on my hope of luring a couple max contract players here through free agency.  If we ever land a star here it's going to have to be through a trade package.

Kyle Korver breaks defenses...

Avery Bradley doesn't...

Maybe.... but he can't break offenses.

Apparently Danny liked Bradley more than a pick that may be in the 25-30 range.
