  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He's the man.
I would not be surprised if Stevens takes him in as an assistant coach.

I love Mike, love Scal, but Tommy gets on my nerves for a multitude of things.

I also ain't the biggest fan of Chris "I've talked to GM's around the league and...." Mannix as a commentator.

But yes, we had a topic about this when he first started and the replies were similarly positive about Ol' Scal daddy....

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.

I agree.
There are no announcers like Mike and Tommy....none.
I really think they are the reason I have been a Celtic fan all these years.
Agree completely.

As sad as I will be to see Tommy go, Mike will be even harder to replace when he eventually retires.  He is an outstanding play-by-play guy, and knows how to make it work with absolutely anyone sitting next to him.  Compared to some of the other home announcers I've heard on NBA TV broadcasts, Celtics fans have been fortunate enough to have the Tim Duncan of NBA play-by-play men bringing 82 games a year alive for us for decades.

Were you not watching the Celtics for the past 2 years or something?

Mike is the best and Tommy is irreplaceable--but I'm hoping Scal goes back to coaching before Tommy fully retires.

Let's be honest... he's much better than Tommy at this point. He gives us objective adult analysis. He's really good. He calls the game like he sees it. Calls the Celtics out when they don't do the right thing. Very little fluff.

Tommy is obviously a legend and we love him, but a lot of what he provides now is fluff. I'd rather have Scal.

Mike Gorman is the best announcer in all of sports.

Jinxing?   Give me a break.  You actually believe that?

You know you haven't been sleeping right when you read 'Jinxing' and think, "Jin Xing? Is that some new overseas prospect? Did Scal like him or something?"

I think he meant GinSeng
