Couldn't catch the last game he played in but I'm reading good things about him (except slight issues due to academic reasons).  Should be available with our 1st 2nd pick.   He is a Junior ,  6'10, 240 pounds. Looks like has around a 7'2-7'3 wingspan, 9'0 plus reach.  Strong, explosive.    His dunks are nasty

How is the other parts of his game like?  rebounding/shot blocking/passing/iq? If anyone knows more info

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Nothing special, some easy put backs with a few dunks on some okay defenders.
His defense can be described in one word : terrible.

Doubt he even gets drafted.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Auguste needs to go back to school for his senior season.  He made Towns look like an offensive juggernaut.  His offense predominantly came from defensive breakdowns by Kentucky.

Does he have a jump shot?

Rim protector?

Not even sure he would be drafted in the second round. For those that complain about Olynyks defense, Olynyk looks like Ben Wallace compared to Auguste. Just don't see the transference of Auguste's skills to the pro game.

One good game does not make hall of game.   He had the game of his life, really.  Ranked 60 among draftees this year prior to that game, someone will move him up their board, it should not be us.

I think the game he had was more about Town's inability to defend from the perimeter. There was a few spurts that ND was able to spread Kentucky out and abuse the lack of quickness from Towns.

Towns did defend well when it was one on one but he struggled with the high pick or having someone face him up from the perimeter.

You throw around some crazy wingspan numbers. This is the second guy, along with Kaminsky, that you think has a 7-2, 7-3 wingspan.

For reference...

Below average is anything less than your height.
Average is around your height
Good is around 2 inches above your height
Great is anything above that.

Not everyone is Giannis, Durant, and Gobert.
