Is anyone paying attention to this guy?  He had a career high of 30 points tonight against OKC on 12-19 fg, 2-3 3s, and 4-6 ft, to go along with his 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 blocks, and 1 steal against only 3 turnovers in 36 minutes.  It's not the first time that he's had an at least good game against one of the best teams in the league this year, either.  Honestly, I think that he's already much better than Smart, and his former backcourt mate, Jabari Brown, has also played well in limited time off the bench for the lakers ever since he was called up recently.

2 years older than Smart so he may look a little sharper at times. But I believe Smart is overall a better player already and has more potential. Clarkson is a solid pick at where they got him though.

I had no idea he was half Filipino. Would be great for their national team if he played for them but doesn't look like it will happen any time soon.

Would take Smart over him any DAY.

If you traded Smart for Clarkson today the Celtics would get better and the Lakers would get worse today. As to what happens a year or three from now may be very different

I seriously doubt that... Clarkson is the only one who can score, and is given free reins to do so. If Smart was given the keys on the LAL, I think he could post up similar numbers with 3x better defense.

Part of the reason he scores more and possibly is given more latitude is because his shooting percentages are far better. Smart's are Rondoish

Did this guy win American Idol?  JK

Easy to put up numbers on a bad team, so I would be careful.   He has a place in the league but despite that 30 point outburst he is averaging 10 PPG.

Who wants a Laker on this team?   Not I!

Ugh.  Don't insult Rondo, lol.  Clarkson also scores more at a better clip not just because of his shooting, as he seems to be great from midrange, but because of his superior handle and THE ABILITY TO SCORE IN THE PAINT.  Sigh.  Smart's numbers across the board are just pathetic.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
He's quite a surprise. He seems to look like he can be a good player on a bad team, and a solid player for a contender. He can score in a variety of ways.

And he's got very good size for a PG.

They have to choose between him or Blatche. He can be a designated naturalized player, which I find weird.

He's half Filipino, there should be a rule for half-bloods like him to just be eligible as long as they can prove the eligibility.
