This is, I would wager, a bit of confirmation bias -- you've been onboard with bringing Love to the C's for what, years at this point?  :P

I should say that the dollar amount isn't really the concern when it comes to his contract: it's the percentage of the salary cap that he'll take up.

Haha, that is very true.  ::)

I know its funny, but I'm actually been more interested in this team more than the team before or the one with Rondo/Green. I'm a huge avid fan of Rondo, but he REALLY disappointed me this year, by his talk of a 'max,' contract, but his effort on the court seemed to state otherwise.

I really did wish Rondo/Love would have happened, because if we had this team, I think we would've been 4-6th seed easy.

I guess if he signed a player option, with a opt out next year, (is that possible?) then he would take at least 18-19% of the cap if I'm correct? I wish NBA had a cap space calculator lol.

I will be on board for Love so long as true C's can get rid of Olynyk and Sully and bring in an athletic post PF and a rim protecting, rebounding defensive anchor of a center.

What if we sign Love this offseason but don't add the rim protector next to him until the offseason after?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

The great thing about signing a max contract this summer is that it will look cheap compared to most of the contracts signed in 2016. That alone is reason enough to pursue any of the "more than the MLE" to max guys available.
Besides the more obvious choices at small forward (Butler, Leonard, Draymond Green, Harris etc.), I would love if we pursued Khris Middleton. He is elite from behind the arc, and an underrated defender. I think he would be even better under Brad Stevens.
I would also make an offer to Paul Millsap as a power forward. I don't get how he can keep such a low profile, he is a star on both ends of the floor. And his play in Atlanta should easily adapt to Boston. I would take him over Love (and I like Love a lot).
There are a handful of interesting centers out there, too...
