I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Im not sure McGee is ever going to have enough between the ears to reach his insane potential but I love the signing. DA is showing a willingness to use this rebuilding roster as a place to salvage talented players careers. First it was Crawford, then Turner and now McGee.

For cheap money McGee is worth the risk. Signing him thru next season may actually term him into a minor trade asset. If he can play a role for the Cs the rest of this season he could establish value as a bench big.

I feel like if Stevens can take a team to the playoffs that traded away Jeff Green and Rondo and has Turner and McGee on  it, he should get some sort of award??

Really hate this player. Don't mind from an angle either basketball-wise or financial wise, but don't like him even if I've felt he's skills (even with all his flaws) would be of very good help to this team.

In all he's the player I dislike the most in the NBA that isn't from a team rival reason.

My first thought: surprise.

Then I read all the comments, and I agree with those who say "low risk/potentially high reward." We all know he's a bit ... interesting ... at times  ;D , but I also remember watching this guy and seeing him fly down the court and soar for alley-oops. Not a great rebounder, but we'll see. Good shot-blocker, great finisher, athletic. Why not give it a shot if he's virtually free?

And someone asked about "Shaqtin' a Fool" and said it sounds like Shaq trying to be punny but failing ... I agree. It's a play on "actin' a fool," but that wasn't readily apparent to me when I first heard about it. A bit of a stretch.

Happy to get another center.

Short of big man depth. Too reliant on PFs. Only one other center on roster (Zeller).

From what little of McGee I did see in Philly, he did look to be moving around better than he did earlier in the season with Denver. Still not his explosive self but good mobility.

Million dollar athleticism, 5 cent brain.

If the Celtics averaged that in the contract offer, I am ok with an offer.

Anything more, is there a worst veteran to show young players how to be an NBA player?

All we need is Sanders now

Love this sentiment...but no Sanders please.

Will be a good signing.

At worst, hrs a very low risk gamble. On average, he'd an asset. At best, ehem...

They can tell him to go to you know where if he tries to pull that.
