Just started thinking about this last night.  I think if Revis and McCourty leave the team, the pats will likely be playoff bound again but defensively not strong enough to challenge for a title.

If they can't challenege for a title do they trade Brady and officially start the rebuild?

Sometimes thoughts are just best left to the night.

Kraft is going to keep selling Brady jerseys until Tawm is drooling in a rest home from too many concussions at the age of 45.

No way they trade him.

hahah...No.  The Pats will keep one of Revis or Mccourty. I am guessing that the reason Devin Mccourty didn't get franchised was because they didn't want to tie up that much money in their secondary.  They will resign Revis and move Logan Ryan to Safety ( which they toyed with last summer in training camp ) and the Pats defense will not miss a beat....Pats will be back in the AFC title game at the very least next season as long as Brady is healthy...

I gotta say though, people are acting like they didn't just draft a QB in the second round.

They drafted a QB in the third round not that long before that, either.

Why rebuild rather than reload?

I've never understood the rush to rebuild.  The Pats just won a Super Bowl.  Regardless of Revis, et. al., they can contend for another one.

In the NFL, "rebuild" is pretty much a synonym for "find a new quarterback" anyhow. You can't recreate a full 53-man roster from scratch the way you do in the NBA.

If the Pats don't re-sign McCourty and Revis then the money will be spent in other areas that improve the team.

I think the will re-sign McCourty but Revis will go to the highest bidder.
