Bulls announced Derrick Rose has medial meniscus tear in right knee, will need surgery. His meniscus tear last year was also in that knee.

Some people's legs just aren't built for the mileage that basketball puts on them. Derrick Rose and Brandon Roy had huge futures taken from them, its sad.

I don't often feel truly sorry for an athlete, but in this case I do. This man cares but keeps running into the same roadblock: his body. Hopefully the Bulls and him can negotiate a good buyout that pays him small increments over many years so both sides can benefit.

You feel for Rose but even more for Bulls fans.  At least Rose has got all that money.  Chicago, though, probably now needs to blow it up and go into a 3-5 year rebuild.  Yeeesh.
