Why was Carlisle unhappy with Rondo?

I appreciate everything Rondo did in green but I certainly won't miss him because of stuff like this. I really do wonder if anyone will give him a max deal next year. I don't think Cuban will the way Rondo looks now.

Maybe he can redeem himself in the playoffs, but if not, you have to figure he won't be resigning there in the offseason.

He'll go to the Lakers. Said it first!

1 more argument than he ever had with Brad Stevens

Has any player argued with Stevens since he's been here? I don't recall

Max doesn't look good for him...I love Rondo, but he's looked avg at best and having that injury to his face certainly didn't help with him gelling with his team. Hope it turns around for him.

That's been the issue with Rondo for a few years now.  He thinks he's a max player, and he's just simply not.  Now that won't stop a dumb and desperate team from giving him a max deal (LAKERS), but any basketball fan with eyes knows he's not worth max money.

That 2012 eastern conference final against the Heat was the closest I've seen him play to a max player level.  He was unreal in that series.  But since that time, he's torn his ACL, committed more turnovers, gotten worse at the free throw line, and admitted to the Dallas media that he basically just hasn't put in any effort on defense the last 2 years.

Didn't Keith Bogans get into an argument with him early last year over playing time?  And as soon as that happened, Ainge basically put the hammer down on him and we never saw him again.

He wanted him to play defense? :p

I guess Carlisle was trying to give Rondo directions on a play at midcourt, and Rondo just ignored him. There's a different vine floating around that shows it.

What is amazing is that no one called Rondo out before.

Doc didn't have the balls.

I remember reading one of those "sources say..." articles about Sully being a bit of a handful for Stevens and that Satch Sullinger butting in all the time didn't sit well with the coaching staff... Gotta dig that up.

A couple of reasons why the Rondo situation should not be compared with Wade

1. Wade and Spoelstra already had a relationship.
2. Wade was clearly an effective player for Miami
3. Rondo may not be a part of Dallas' future
4. Rondo sat the rest of the game
5. Rondo has a history of being smarter than coaches (in his own head)

Rondo already had a reputation of not listening to coaches at Kentucky. I don't think that this dooms his relationship with Carlisle, but Rondo's horrible shooting and potential conflicts could definitely make Dallas pass on re-signing him if they have a chance at another free agent.

I definitely got that vibe from Satch as well. Sully does seem to have some anger/personality issues at times, e.g. his gf issues.

Doc NEVER called Rondo out?? I think you may have that wrong, wasn't that the main reason for them butting heads earlier.

Please dig that up...and I can imagine Satch butting in.
