i know we bring these names up often, but I want to bring them up again for this summer.

Instead of paying a Tobias Harris or Enes Kanter big money, could we land a Tristan Thompson or Bismark Biyombo for a lot cheaper?

Biyombo is still young, is 3rd in blocks per 48 mins and 8th in rebounds per 48.  Both Thompson and Biyombo are solid as far as FG% and Thompson also rebounds pretty well.

Can Thompson be had for 7-9 mil to replace Bass going forward? Would Biyombo be a good backup center if he could be had for 6-7 mil?

Would allow to trade up in the draft and pick just one guy in the Top 7 - target best player available.

I like how Danny has picked up players that have reasonable salaries. Maybe these are the kind of guys he would target.

Tristain Thompson is 6'9" and Bismack Biyombo is 6'9."

I want to get Danny one of these:

And set it at 6'10" for PFs and 6'11" for Cs.

The only realistic targets I see are Greg Monroe and Roy Hibbert.

CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

He's not a perfect player (none of them are, however), but Asik can be had as well.

my sales pitch to Deandre Jordan is, this is your team, there is no CP3 or Blake Griffin, you are the main guy!  Ego can be a good thing.

Thompson I like but as others have said he isnt big enough and really isnt much of an upgrade from Bass

Biyombo I also like but I wonder if he will fit with how BS likes to play. I question if his hands and passing ability are at the level they need to be.

I foresee the Cs standing pat with any free agent bigs with the exception of maybe a bit player 4th big. I assume that the Cs let Bass walk in the off-season leaving Sully, Zeller and KO. If they draft a big then I expect they will add an additional cheap vet to fill the rotation. If both of the draft picks are smaller guys then I could see them retaining bass short term or going after Lavoy Allen, Kevin Serephin or Alex Ajinca level big man.

Outside of the draft I dont see a team changing big coming to the Cs this offseason.

Also, regarding Thompson, it would be a shocker if he received less than $10 mil per year.  Frankly below $12 mil means he should fire his agent.  I don't think he's worth that much, but his next contract will be a test case for LeBron's power over the Cavs.

I don't really disagree with your desires, but in Bismack's defense, I'll point out that he "plays a hell of a lot taller" because he has a ridiculous 7' 6.2" wingspan.

His standing reach at the combine was over 9' 3".

Robin Lopez.

Would love to have him.

Would you love to had him if you had to make him the highest-paid Lopez in the league by a few million in order to get him to leave Portland?

Good point on Biyombo, he is basically a 7 footer with that wingspan. He may not be great on offense, but he could be what we need in defense - he really blocks shots.

Thompson isn't an upgrade over Bass, just a possible younger replacement. If he commands more than $10 mil, I don't want him.

I know your title is free agent, but for some reason feel trade is more likely.  Ibaka?  Sign and trade for deandre Jordan?  I don' t think either of these are likely but would be the type of move I would give up considerable assets for versus wanting to sign a less impactful player such as robin Lopez or even asik.
