This would suck for many reasons.  First, because I really want RJ.  Second, because I think he really helps them get better, and thus making our picks worse.

Not at all, the Nets are far too damaged... I just like him as a player

I don't see this as an improvement for the Nets. This makes their ceiling much lower.

I'm unsure why people are so head over heels for Jackson. He's not that great. Dragic is clearly the better player.

I'm skeptical.

He doesn't do anything that great. He doesn't get a ton of shots in the paint, doesn't score all the efficiently, isn't an amazing playmaker, and is shaky jump shoooter.

He's a good guard, but nothing special. He has talent and clearly can always improve or grow if given a bigger role. But with the Thunder this year he was straight chucking early and cost his team as many games as he "won" for them.

A good guard being traded for a limited big man (scoring specialist) seems to be a meh move for all around.

OKC would have to throw in other players to match salaries.  Perkins expiring deal and Lamb would work.  Let's say they also trade KG for Thad Young they are on their way to retooling.

Williams, Jackson, Johnson, Young, and Plumlee as your starting 5 for next year.

Maybe they will try to continue flipping Johnson and Williams for other pieces.

Brooklyn could make some big moves this deadline.  Lopez for Reggie Jackson.  Kg for Thad young.  Could see them trading deron to the Kings of something.

I like this move for Brooklyn. I think a three guard backcourt of Deron Williams, Reggie Jackson and Jarret Jack is a nice mix. I am not sure Lionel Hollins is the right coach to utilize such a backcourt but it's got talent to it. Joe Johnson gives them an extra ball-handler and playmaker from the SF position. Another shooter who can space the floor and someone who can score one-on-one. Thaddeus Young adds real genuine pace and athleticism to this team. His defensive quickness will be huge in rectifying Brooklyn's ailing defense. Mason Plumlee gets to long term starting job.

I really like the mix of that team. A lot more dribble drive threats. Good spacing. More quickness. A lot more passing. That should open up their offense well and have improved defensive integrity due to Thaddeus Young's addition at PF.

They have Bogdanovic to backup Joe Johnson. Good role for him. I don't think he was working out well as a starter. Partly due to the talent around (Bogs not a good fit). Teletovic could make-do as the backup PF. They need a backup center to finish out rotation. 9 man rotation.

I think that is an improved squad over current group. I'd rate this new-look team as a .500 type team (16th-19th best in league) whilst I'd only rate previous version of team around 20-23rd league wide. Previous team had some good talent in areas but huge holes at SG and PF. Poor balance. Caused negative contributions that held back good contributing players. This new-look Nets team has better balance and cohesiveness.
