"@ShamsCharania: The Dallas Mavericks have informed guard Ricky Ledo of his release to create space for Amar'e Stoudemire, league source tells RealGM."

Maybe Danny should claim him off waivers or as a free agent if he clears. Especially if no other major deals are done at the deadline. If Prince & Thornton are either bought out or traded, it'll open up minutes for Young. There would be a few minutes available for a guy like Ledo...

I could see him as a decent pick up for the rest of the season with a team option for next year. He is better of the dribble then anyone currently on the roster with the exception of turner. He wont see minutes but could just be sent to maine for a test run.

Ledo was inconsistent in Chicago, looking very good on the first day and then coming down to earth a bit in the second. His shooting was hit or miss, but his talent-level with the ball in his hands was unmistakable in terms of his able to create shots smoothly for himself and others at 6-7. He's clearly a good athlete and ball-handler, mixing in crossovers nicely and finishing above the rim on a couple of occasions. Defensively, Ledo has a ways to go and is probably a long-term project considering how little experience he brings to the table, but his upside is significantly higher than most of the prospects outside of the top-20 or 25, which could convince a team to roll the dice on him, despite the character concerns.

Yep... good gamble. Also may get a cheap look at Burke and Harkless too.

So worth the gamble.

Shooting, ball handling, and athleticism packaged in a 6'8 22 year old.

yeah i would try a get him off waivers
dont we still have a spot open

if not once the deadline passes and the veterans have not been traded away, we could buyout them and get a couple young players and try tank for the draft again

I don't think tanking is on Danny's mind. However if he wants an extended look at a youngster, he will figure out how to make it happen. Especially if he thinks there is a chance that said youngster has a chance at making the team better going forward. Danny's motto "Buy Low, Sell High"

I agree. I wouldn't call it tanking. I think he's willing to buy low on players, or get back more than he's sending out (i.e trading Lawson in a deal that involves Bradley). If he feels like a deal gets a player that could benefit the team more than one of our current players, he will likely include pick(s) to compensate the other team. At the bare minimum I believe we will be without Prince, Bass, & Thornton after the deadline.

He may buy low on guys like Harkless, but I'm hoping he goes after bigger fish!

Tobias Harris, Reggie Jackson, Terrence Ross, Khris Middleton, Lawson.

I also anticipate Ainge won't mind taking on a player's salary if that means getting back a young player or pick. (Maybe take J. Thompson & Stauskas from the Kings, send them Bass & a 2nd rd pick or two).

ANYTHING'S POSSIBLE!!!!!

Not every move has to be a big one. It doesn't hurt to add talent. What hurts is when you let talent go somewhere else and flourish. If he could be had for not a single asset, then why wouldn't you do it? I don't understand. Please elaborate...

He didn't exactly set the D-League on fire when he was there, either.

My point exactly. Not saying the Celtics need to make a big move but we also don't have to make lateral ones either. Let it be with what we have right now.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
