Get him NOW Danny.  It guy is a little bag of DYNAMITE.  He is #16 in real plus minus for PG's this year.  He is shooting 39.1 from three is has consistently been a nice three point shooter for the last four years.

Very reasonable contract.

I would do Bass and a late first rounder in a heart beat.  We have plenty of first round picks!!

This would allow us to go with a three guard line-up at times or allow Smart to play off the ball a little more and bring AB off the bench and then get back to his ball hawking one-man pressing defense that made him an All-NBA defender!!!

Thoughts??

The report is from Marc Stein, not hoops hype.

I think I'll pass on Thomas actually. He shoots the ball way too much and passes way too little for my liking. Suns fans have made it a running joke on how little Thomas (no pun intended) cares for  passing

He's a midget. Destined to have a Earl Boykins type career where he comes off the bench and scores a bunch while being a defensive liability.

They should have never signed him to begin with. It makes no sense for them to move Dragic or Bledsoe. I think the only reason they signed him is they thought Bledsoe would leave in free agency and getting Thomas early on gave them leverage, but they managed to keep Bledsoe so Thomas is useless.

I.Thomas does intrigue me a lot as a change of pace backup PG behind Smart. I think Thomas' explosive shooting & scoring and ability to create off the dribble would be a very beneficial contrast + complement to Smart's skill-set as defensive minded starting PG.

I would be willing to give up a late first for Thomas to fill such a role. I do not view Thomas as starting PG material though. His defense is appalling. Backup PG is the right role for him.

I would rather give up Bradley and a pick to get Dragic and then extend Dragic in the offseason

Or they got Thomas because they think Dragic is gone after the season is over.

If they don't wanna move Dragic. I'd take Thomas. If we could get Plumlee with it, then i would be all for it. Plumlee can block shots, run the floor, rebound, and finish at the rim. I'd be all for it. We could use Isaiah's scoring punch. Plus we could hide some of his weaknesses like defense with Marcus and AB.

They got Thomas because they thought they'd be able to sign-and-trade Bledsoe.

Would IT accept coming off the bench behind a rookie? It's different then coming off the bench behind Goran Dragic.

We already have a pg, rather save our bullets for a wing & big.   Love IT's game but the price is too high for a player that won't fit.

I think so long as Thomas gets enough minutes and shots, he'll accept a bench role.

I know Thomas wants to start but I think he'll be happy enough so long as he is an important player for the team. Heck, the Celtics are so short of scorers that Thomas would probably end up being the team's leading scorer from the 6th man role. His 15ppg in 25mpg would be tops for the Celtics right now and I think he'd be worth more than 25 minutes here. Closer to 30.

Funny, I don't EVER remember Boykins having about a +20 PER and being in the top 15 in real plus/minus.  How can you be such a BAD defender and still be so high on that plus/minus???
