So do they like him or do they like him?

I think close to 100% of Sherrod's reporting is guess work and speculation, but that said...  doesn't this report say the Celtics *aren't* particularly interested in him?  If they're not making a run at him right now, how much interest can they have?

Sounds like they're actually not very interested.

Yeah that report to me says, "We're listening if you're giving him away"

Sherrod ticks me off, cause this is speculation at its finest... Seriously... He said Celtics monitoring, but not expected to make a run at him... So literally Sherrod said a whole bit of nothing.... I feel like reporting would be an easy job... Considering how much BS Blakely spouts on a consistent basis.

Celtics don't give up assets for players like Kanter, because he isn't fitting needs, is RFA, so hes expected to get paid. I rather go after Hibbert/Monroe or any players like Dragic in hopes of resigning than trade darts with Jazz for Kanter.

I take it as they're interested, but want to see what plays out with his agent and the trade demands. Perhaps the "right now" is literal and they'll make a run at the 11th hour of the deadline. Regardless, it sounds like that might be a player we indeed target this summer.

Love Blakely, I was working from home the day Rondo was traded - So I was watching Felger and Mazz and they cut to Blakely and Abby about all the rumors about Rondo - Blakely says "Rondo is going to get dealt but probably closer to the deadline, nothing was imminent"  The trade was literally announced within the hour after he was on the air....

Blakely gets credit for that if he didn't say Rondo was getting traded 1000x times after we missed out on Kevin Love.

I read that as:
1. They would like him if the price went down
or
2. They are monitoring the situation because they would like to be a third team that helps facilitate a deal
or
3. They monitor every potential trade situation so they are paying attention to this one.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Pretty much this. That basically sums how Ainge does trades. Usually if he cant make a trade work then he'll just do a 3 or 4 way trade.

I take him for his word that this is what a reliable source told him--and I'd rather have him pass it along than to share nothing.

If we are going after a disgruntled soon to be free agent I'd much rather have them target Reggie Jackson than Kanter.

Why? We need size and Kanter is younger and has more upside.
