The Cavs likely don't want to pay TT 9 to 10 millinon per.  With just 8 players signed, they are already at around 75 million or there about.

How about Bass and a Cleveland or LA first for Thompson and Haywood??

Would they bite?

Suggesting this trade implies that you want to pay Thompson 10 million/year.

Not exactly.  I was thinking that we could give him a look/see at Center over the last 30 games and he could see that he could get starter minutes here and then re-up for around 8 per year.  Once Varejao gets back, he would hardly get any minutes in Cleveland next year.

I think you don't understand the relationship between the Cavs, Tristan Thompson, and LeBron James.  There's not a chance in heck that he's traded for so little, and both sides are expecting he'll be paid in the $12M+ per year range.

Here's some reading for you on the subject.

The above.  Even if they don't end up re-signing him this offseason, they're not going to trade him away during the season.  They have several good reasons not to.

Also, I'd imagine the Cavs feel they have far better uses for Haywood's really valuable contract than using it as salary filler in a Thompson for Bass and a late first rounder trade.

I don't like this for us
Thompson hasn't really shown much over his years with the cavs
He had his chance when it was just him, Kyrie, Dion, and varejao but didn't really capitalise

His a solid player
but I wouldn't throw 10-12 mil to sign him
