Why for us?

We can get a look/see at a guy that might be able to fill our SF slot.  Sounds like Jonas is a decent defender and he can flat shoot the 3-ball.

To get him, we have to take on one more year of Butler, which is not that horrible.  Good veteran to play a few SF minutes as needed.

What I'm looking at (Basketball Insiders) says that Butler's contract is nonguaranteed next year so, sure, why not? Jerebko is here for the rest of the year on an audition. I'm not sure that Detroit says yes but who knows? Interesting idea.

I guess it just depends on IF Detroit wants to try to make a push and grab that 8th spot and thinks Thornton would help them do that.  They might not NEED a PG coming back with DJ Augustine playing so well for them now.

P.S.  Thanks for the info regarding Butler's option next year!!

Yes please! But Detroit says no, Butler's unguaranteed salary would be sweet
