This came out earlier today (well... technically, yesterday), but has kinda gone under the radar, probably because there's not much info to glean from this.  Buuuut...

As amazingly fantastic a player Smith is, it's very likely he's part of a bigger deal.  We know the Thunder have apparently shopped Jackson and we know that the Lakers are clearly in need of a starting point guard for the future.  We also know that OKC has been looking to acquire a more offensively-oriented big, as the rumored talks for Brook Lopez should indicate; the Lakers have been shopping one such big in Jordan Hill.

Jackson/Smith/Lamb/Perkins for Hill/Lin/Ellington (who happens to fit perfectly in the Lance Thomas trade exception, given that they both make the same salary this year)?  Draft picks included as deemed necessary.

Kinda makes sense for both teams: the Lakers get to test-drive Jackson ahead of his free agency and take a flyer on Lamb, who's no longer in the OKC rotation.  The Thunder would get a more mobile big in Hill to provide scoring off the bench.  They would also get a guy in Lin who's perfectly fine accepting his role as a backup and who brings more of a change of pace from Westbrook's style than Jackson.  Finally, they'd get some sorely-needed shooting depth with Ellington.

I'd imagine the Lakers would just waive Price, make Jackson the starter, Clarkson the backup, and Smith the third-stringer.  Perkins would kinda just be there on the roster.
