Just got a Jack Russell Terrier, named him Hondo. Can't go wrong with Hondo. Nick-named after a John Wayne character... Loyalty, high motor, consistency. All traits of elite dogs in the shot-clock era... Dog's personality have to factor in. McHale, is a solid choice for a laid-back canine. If you're scouting an outright, human name, I go with Paul Pierce... Honorable mention: DJ and Legend

I have 2 x 9 year old dogs (Jack Russell x King Charles Cavalier). Just happen to have an Irish background and a C's fan so the name of one of the dogs fits well... Clover

Hondo, great name for a dog... 2 syllables (most directions given to a dog are 1 syllable - sit, walk, stay etc.) so good to have a name with 2.

My daughter had a cockatiel she named Larry Bird.  I think a dog named Larry would be fun.

I named my now 1year old Golden retriever Rondo.
Can't get him to answer to "Jameer", and that's a good thing.
I wish there was someone on this year's roster, but I can't find that Cowens/Bird/Russell/KG/DJ ferocity.
So, he remains "Rondo"
