Bass and Thornton are in the last year of their deals, if we take on Marvin Williams and Gerald Henderson (who both have another year) and they throw in Gary Neal to make it all even -
Could we get a top-12 protected pick from them? Is the potential cap space this summer worth it to them? Are Bass and Thornton enough of an upgrade at PF and SG to help them?
Ok how about this:
Bass and Thornton (waive Pressey) for Marvin, Neal, and two 2nd rounders. Their 2017 2nd rounder and the better of their 2019 2nd rounders (theirs or Miami's) odds are one of them will be in the 30's because by 2019 Al Jefferson, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh will be totally washed up.
Hornets get a big upgrade at PF And by acquiring Thornton they would have enough depth at SG to trade Lance away.
For us we get two 2nds for Bass with a good chance of one of them being pretty good. We take on Marvin for one more year.
