Stanley Johnson is a winner and a 4x champion at the high school level.  Going into college his Arizona teammates and coach marvel at his confidence, physical ability, and skills.

I believe this guy can be a goto guy, the #1 scorer for the Celtics.
A 5 is a big need for us, but a guy who can 'be the man' offensively is an even bigger need.

If I'm Danny Ainge, I do everything in my power to draft this guy.  To top it off, he's a two way player.  He can make an impact defensively as well and he has supreme athleticism to be a do everything player on the court.

SJ will be a key player for Arizona this year:

Sign me up. Definitely think Stanley Johnson could be a number 1 option, similar to a post Jordan Pippen. He's got grown man strength at a young age, Weighs in at 245 which is heavier than a lot of today's big men, and is a relativity creative scorer.

Question is who do you take him over?

Okafor?
Mudiay
Towns?
Maybe

How about a resurgent Kelly Oubre? Aside from him I think the only other players that would garner a long look would be Willey Caulie-Stein and maybe Justise Winslow if a team over thinks the pick and passes on Johnson.

Of the above, think I'd only prefer Okafor or Towns to Johnson. Towns' has been a bit dicey for a top 3 pick but there's a chance he could be better suited to the spacing of the NBA and become the next Rasheed Wallace(without the techs!). Would hate to imagine a world where we passed on Towns and he starts putting up 19-10-2-1 on 2 3 pointers made to take a player that could only end up as a "very-good" starting wing.

I think he is a big time talent!

If we can't get Towns then we should go after him hard!
If we draft him I would trade the clippers pick and an asset or two for a young center (Len, Noel idk.)

I would add WCS to that list.

Very promising.  On top of his physical skills and gifts, you really have to like his attitude.  I like that he's not afraid of LeBron.

Wonder if he could play SF.  Could be an interesting core with Smart, Sully and Young.  Very premature now and it will be hard to pass on a C if we get a top pick but maybe we can trade into two top picks.  Maybe we parlay the Clippers pick and our pick, plus other picks into like a #2 and a #5.

He definetly can play Small Forward he is a 3/4. If we really could snatch two top 5 picks I would build a shrine for Danny! :D

Imagine that lineup: Smart, Bradley/Young, Johnson, Sully/Olynyk, Towns  :o

Stanley Johnson would also pair well with Smart defensively. They're both versatile and physical defenders.

I like the outlook on Johnson but everything I've read on him says he's a defensive guru who needs work on the offensive side of the ball... Can he really be a go to, number 1 option in the NBA?

Been advocating drafting him for months . He is a young Artest with better athleticism and shot . Remember how good a young Artest was? He was a stud in INDY before the brawl . Seems Johnson is a better leader, and is mentally stable . Sign me up!

if he's BPA when we pick, I wouldn't be upset if he's the guy we grabbed.

I could see Stevens really liking this guy, fits into the system really well as good defender that is a good passer on offense.

I think Okafor is the only guy I'd put over everyone else in the top10, after that it would be who best fits the system. Towns looks more like a PF than a C and in the games I've seen has either been sitting on the bench in crunch times or just hasn't played well. He'd be better off staying one more year.

Mudiay might be a slight step a head of Johnson, but if Young could move to the SG spot, Johnson would be a great pick.
