[IDEA] Prince for Butler and Jerebko (swap Clippers pick and Detroit pick)

The title says it all.

Boston sends Tayshaun to Detroit for Caron Butler and Jonas Jerebko, and the teams agree to swap the Clippers 2015 pick (which the Celtics own) for Detroit's 2015 pick. The hope is a marginal improvement in draft position.

Not a bad idea. Detroit might say no. Prince is a better fit than Jerebko, but he's debatably not enough to justify swapping a pick that will likely fall within the #9-12 or #15-17 range for a pick that will likely fall within the #20-25 range.

If Detroit feels it is a legitimate contender this year (not totally ridiculous to assert given their extended recent play), they'd consider this offer. But ultimately, I think they'd hang up the phone.

I like it but that's probably a sign it's lopsided in favor of the C's.

I don't think Prince brings enough improvement for them to swap that pick.  Detroit's looking like a playoff team at this point but would still result in about  5 spot slide for them.  not sure they'd do it.

Just a general question: What EC teams fall out of the playoffs if both Detroit or Charlotte continue making strong pushes? Brooklyn, and who else?

Detroit says no. Both Butler and Jerebko are more useful to Detroit than Tayshaun is.
