Recommend some good tv shows?

I have started watching Dexter on Netflix.  My wife is very hooked.  (getting mad when I decide to watch sports instead of another episode)

Heard a lot about dexter, any good?

im sure you'll want to see for yourself, but some friendly advice, just stop watching after season 4.  That show falls off a cliff after the great job they did on the 4th season.


The first season is so far.  Got me hooked.

Dexter got pretty full of itself, and a tad formulaic.  But really, how much killing can you simply brush under the rug?

Castle is a good light-hearted cop show similar to the Mentalist.

First few seasons were good. Lead characters likeable with good banter.

Comedy:
Workaholics - "stoner" type of comedy
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - absolutely hilarious non-intellectual humor
Impractical Jokers - actually extremely funny and entertaining reality tv comedy show
Archer - believe it or not it's an intellectual type of humor along with tons of cultural/pop fiction humor
The Big Bang Theory - family comedy, alot of people hate it but I'm an academic so I relate to it.... and Kaley Cuoco 

Fantasy/SciFi:
Game of Thrones - one of the greatest series of all time, pretty good balance of fantasy vs reality
The Walking Dead - excellent show, it's about the zombie apocalypse but it's much more than just that
American Horror Story - Asylum is the only good season

Drama:
Breaking Bad - up there with with GoT as one of the greatest series of all time, starts slow so power through the first little bit

If you haven't seen Breaking Bad or GoT, you have to watch those. If you're looking for something in comedy, Archer is an excellent choice, and Impractical Jokers is a relatively unknown gem that's pretty good.

One season left of "Justified ".....one of my all time favs ....worth buying previous years and watching from beginning.

I have heard good things about Wallander, but all I know about it is that it's a murder mystery, it's really dark, it's Swedish and it's streaming on Netflix.  While it has been recommended to me strongly, I see there are a spattering of very negative reviews so I feel weird recommending it strongly since again, I haven't seen it.  But maybe?

If you get masterpiece theater, you're all set, lol.   Personally, I hate that sh1t, but to each their own, haha.  I would recommend the curse of oak island, but, never mind, lol.

If you liked the Mentalist and have a sense of humor you can tryout Psych. It's one of my favorite shows and the mentalist ripped them off so hard.

Dude, they're still making Psych?  I'll always remember that program as 'the show after Monk,' lol.
