Recently watched Black Mirror. I think there's two seasons of three episodes each. I liked the first four episodes. The last two were just ok.

Also, Borgia (not "The Borgias") was really good. Terriers, Mad Men, The Wire are all recent shows that I've been into (as well as others already mentioned in the thread).

One that I don't see here: Twin Peaks.  It's on Netflix and they're about to make new episodes soon randomly, even though it's like 25 years later.  The first season is incredible and everyone will like it.  The second season is slow and weird and trippy....not for everyone but I really enjoyed it the whole way through.

I have started watching Dexter on Netflix.  My wife is very hooked.  (getting mad when I decide to watch sports instead of another episode)

Stop whatever it is you're doing right now and watch "Utopia", a british TV series by Channel 4.

The first season is absolutely amazing, even though it's only 6 episodes. It's like watching "Lost" for the very first time, except with an ending that actually makes sense. Arby might be one of the greatest TV villains ever created.

Here's the opening scene:

I also enjoyed "Penny Dreadful" quite a lot, even though it's more of the "guilty pleasure" variety. Victorian London Horror show with Eva Green in the lead, who, as usual, does an outstanding job.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Utopia looks pretty rad, can you stream it anywhere right now?

I have been watching Helix recently, its a Sci Fi show, no big names no budget, but I like the story.

Cosmos with NDT.

That is the best show on TV right now.  NDT is the effing man.  He makes science awesome.

Sorry, I can't help you there. It was available on Pay TV in my country.

Any solution I could present would probably be against site rules  :-\

im sure you'll want to see for yourself, but some friendly advice, just stop watching after season 4.  That show falls off a cliff after the great job they did on the 4th season.

I've been watching Sons of Anarchy from the beginning (having never watched it before).  I'm hooked in, but it's a little over the top.  When they get the music and scene matched up just right it can be pretty emotional stuff.  They gloss over plausibility pretty easily.  There's a lot killing that never gets either followed up legally or there's no effort to even explain how they would cover it up  (something that The Wire & Deadwood were amazing about).

I'm with you 100% on that.  I remember being deeply moved by "Johnny I hardly knew ye" at one point.

Has anyone else seen Dominion on Syfy?  I watched it recently and found it entertaining.  Post-apocalyptic stuff based on the same premise as the movie Legion.

Full disclosure:  the fact that Giles from Buffy is in it definitely drew me in.
