Would you like him on the celtics? I, personally, dont see smart as a pg and want to trade turner. I'm pretty high on last years ROY, and Mass native, Michael Carter-Williams.

Thoughts?

This article was from oct.

From Zach Lowe of Grantland:

They tried hard during the draft, but they couldn’t draw the trove they envisioned or guarantee that the player they wanted with an acquired pick would be there, per several league sources. Expect Philly to repeat the exercise. It’s not a shot at Carter-Williams, or even a signal that the Sixers are dying to trade him. He may well end up a long-term cog in Philly.

The team knows point guard is the most replaceable position in the league today, and it will seek out any deal that adds to its stockpile of high-value draft picks.

If we could get him cheap i would do this

Same, would do KO and a pick (pref 2nd rounder, but not theirs(as thats basically, later 1stRound))

http://www.libertyballers.com/2014/9/7/6116097/taking-a-look-at-michael-carter-williams-potential-as-a-defender

He has a potential, but due to his height, can't keep up with most PGs. If the Cs view young as a SF, then with bradley and/or smart at the SG, they can switch and cover the opposing guards. And since bradley is a great on ball defender but to small for SGs, that could work.

Edit:
Also since hawes is gone, they could do with a strech 4. Since Noel will be on the inside, KO can help. Then proceed to back up embiid (since he can play a little further from the basket, than noel, he is better for PF than Noel).

Not interested.  Can't shoot and Smart is starting to prove me wrong, looking more and more comfortable at the point all the time.  I'd rather have Wroten who also can't shoot but is a good finisher.

No thanks.

Shooting horribly on an astronomically high usage rate and turns the ball over more than any guard in the NBA.

I agree.....ROY as "best" player on a horrific team. He has talent, but another pg who can't shoot and can't shoot FTs either?

The flipside is that he just turnrd 23 and could maybe learn to shoot and also improve his FTs .

MKG I'd trade for . .. .MCW, nah.

MKG could give us another nice athlete (cost controlled with upside) on the wing.

I'd love MCW.  I look at his shooting as there isn't anyone else on that team to shoot the ball, someone has to, and he is their best player so it should be him.  Even on that atrocious team he is getting over 7 assists and 6 rebounds a game.  He is a 6'6" PG in his second year in the league.  I'd love me some MCW and would easily part with 2 of our lesser first round picks (like LAC and DAL).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I'd offer a bit more than people are suggesting if I wanted him but don't think he's a good fit with these Cs. I've seen enough from Smart to believe he is a PG. A Smart/MCW backcourt could feasibly work but it's not ideal.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

We do not need any more players on the team who can't shoot. I'd persevere with Smart before making a move for a point guard whose rookie contract is up a year before Smart's.

He's not on the block.

Because he's a future superstar?
