  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Too late...

When he was tearing up the D-League and we needed a Center, we didn't even took a glimpse on him.

The only way ANY team would get him now is if they pay a first round pick. And since he has been playing on a high level, the probability of Miami even trading him would probably be slim. I personally would be willing to give a Mosgov deal for him right now. Two late first and maybe Zeller.

The kid is legit, and is starting to mature and get the league.

There are conflicting reports that he signed a 2 year deal and will NOT be a free agent until 2016.

Spotrac has him RFA in 2015.

Assuming he's RFA, and he plays in the same level, would it be crazy to offer him $10 million per year? We have the cap room, right?

He has an Hakeem-like athleticism to him...hope he stays humble.

Great game from him today. I hope he adjusts as opponents adjust to him.

This is the key part.

With his physical presence, if he stays humble, I think at worst, he's a guy that will give you 8 rebounds, 8 points, 1.5 blocks and great shooting efficiency. The ceiling is very high. But all that won't matter if he goes back to his supposed lazy and arrogant ways.

Which is why, I think, that we should offer this kid a contract.

Agree. Wow he can be good, though. Chicago was fully aware of him, and he went 14/13 with 12 blocks against the likes of Gasol, Noah and Gibson. In 25 minutes.

I'm sure teams will make adjustments, but really how much can you adjust to a guy who has the ability to block 12 shots in 25 minutes, and is 7'0" 270 lbs? Stop going to the rim?

Logically speaking it reminds me of Linsanity, where he has to come back to earth. But [dang]... 20/15/6blk are his per-40 splits right now.

I know they have that, but...

Hassan Whiteside’s two-year deal with the Heat includes a partial guarantee of $100K for this season, but the second year includes no guaranteed salary, Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders reports.

If he keeps playing like this everyone will want him and he may be offered even more!

Would you give a 26 year old Center that averages 12 points, 9-11 rebounds and 2.5 - 3 blocks in 25 minutes $10 million per year?

He's averaging 7.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.0 blocks on 15.5 minutes this season. I think it's safe to assume that he can hit those number if he stayed on the court longer.

Did you guys see this interview in the game recap on espn?  Heather Cox asked what had inspired him, and, towards the end, Whiteside said, "I'm really just trying to get my NBA 2K rating up," lol. ;D  Haha I love this kid.  Thanks Danny (sarcasm)!  Ugh.

Umm, I wouldn't go nearly that far, lol ;D, but I love his speed and effort, not to mention his athleticism.  To me, he looks more like a slightly-less athletic version of Deandre Jordan who can actually score.  Is that being fair?

Btw, Yoki - as soon as I saw his stat line I thought of you, lol. ;D
