I think we should sell Love on that, Ainge can bring in or utilize Love better than he has been in the Cavs.

We just need a C, and potential go to scorer. Or even sign Rondo on a nice contract, put Smart as SG to become a Dennis Johnson or Dumars type of player.

I think Kevin Love has proven he's not a max player.

here's my hope

Danny clears enough to add two max free agents

Memphis gets booted in 1st rd

Cleveland doesn't make the finals

Danny sells Gasol and Love on having tons of assets to add to them

PG: Smart
SG: Mudiay (top 3 pick)
SF: Crowder
PF: Love
 C: Gasol

A man can dream, right ?

Yes anyone who says no is ignorant to Love's role with cleveland. The only shots he gets are the occasional spot up three. As a primary scorer he's still the man he was in Minnesota. If we could get Gasol and Love with two max contracts then we'd be cooking.

Definitely a max player but I can't see any reason for K-Love to want to come to Boston. This roster is amongst the worst in the league and has no other star talent on the books.

No way in heck, would I give him a max contract.   He can't play D.  Get real guys and watch some CLE games so your in touch with what is going on in this league.

No, Kevin Love is overrated as is the matching of star players.

I would much rather the Celtics go out and get two players who can contribute than just Love. Plus i am concerned about Love and his attitude.  Dude still thinks he does not have to play defense.  That makes me nervous.

Spurs and Hawks are doing it correctly, 10 guys working as a unit.  10 guys who can be interchanged at will.  The Nets will give the Celtics the stud talent they need.

Especially with the Nets being up for sale and Prokorov losing money daily over UN Sanctions.

Nets are done, and the Celtics are gonna have a chance at 3 #1 picks in a row.

Of course.  It's weird that so many think Reggie Jackson should get a near max contract but not Love.  That's a joke.

Yeah, that roster would be incredibly dynamic. It would probably take a couple of years of development of the young guys to be in true contention, but that would set us up for both the present and the future.

With the increase in cap numbers, yes. Many max players will be even more underpaid as the cap increases due to how raises work in the NBA. Love may not be as good as many of his max peers, but he is as worthy as Melo and more worthy than Joe Johnson was.

I find it silly how people get caught up on the word 'max'. The phrase 'max contract' is useless as used by many commentators and fans. All that matters is how much a player is being paid, max or not max. There is no point in talking about offering a max contract without listing the actual numbers.

Recently there was a stupid question to Blatt about losing with 2 max players on the floor. The idiocy of that question is that Irving will make 14.7 million next year. He is not making Joe Johnson or Melo money (over $24 million a year). It isn't like having Wade out there as a sidekick.

He's not a max player, but Ainge would be silly not to offer him a max contract.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

They would have completely different max deals? Love would make over $20 million a year due to more years of service. 'Max contract' is not a meaningful term when evaluating players.

You can't compare max deals unless you talk about the actual $ value!!!

Personally, I don't see Jackson as worthy of $!5m a year. He is no James Harden.
