2.9 mil for cap flexibility for next year, 500k in savings now, arguably get a better player...even if we gave up a second rounder I would still love this trade. Great work Danny.

Presumably after a buyout with the Celtics.

BOS trade Nelson to DEN, and Rivers to Clippers. Celtics could negotiate a buyout, and Clippers might have some way to absorb Robinson's contract.

There's a rumor that Danny got the Knicks to trade the island of Mahattan for a handful of beads.

Any guesses as to why Denver wanted to do this trade?  Do they actually like Jameer more than Nate?  Do they owe us a solid?

Robinson is as tough as nails.

Smart, Robinson and Crowder = CBS type of players

but overall a weird trade unless the celts pry a 2nd also somehow from this trade

They are bringing Robinson in to show Marcus how not to play the point.

It's not really that weird. Nelson has an option for next year, and makes more money. This way Boston saves money for both this and probably next year.

Good move by Danny. Now get rid of Thorton and we are in business.

I've been reading the trade was just to get rid on Nelson's contract w/the option. Robinson will most likely be bought out and might go to the Clippers.

You've been advocating dumping Nelson since he got here with no regard for the 3+ mil he is due to make next year. They found a way to dump him for an expiring contract and a player you say you like, yet you think we should have landed a 2nd rounder also, somehow. Am I missing something?

Bingo.

Also, as bad as Nelson has been this year, Robinson has been even more putrid.

I don't get why DEN makes the deal. Do they really want to keep Nelson next year? Or do they think he'll opt out to avoid having to stay?
