Through all of this Deflategate nonsense, I realized why everyone loves Peyton Manning: he always loses. He says the right things, does the right things, and makes cute commercials, but, when it comes down to it, he always loses. In other words, a win-win for everyone. No one hates him because no one has a reason to hate him because he never wins when it matters. Brady, on the other hand, has hundreds of detractors. Despite his squeaky clean image, marketable looks, and professional behavior, seemingly everyone bags on him whenever an opportunity arises. The reason? He has ripped the hearts out of hundred of thousands of people, and some of them are media voices.
Think about who spoke out about how "terrible" the Pats were in the past week:
Jerry Rice- Lost to Brady in Tuck Game
Marshall Faulk- Lost ot Brady in playoffs
Joe Montana- His legacy is losing his luster with every Brady Super Bowl
Ray Lewis- Has had many battles with Brady- and come out on the bottom in many of them
Troy Aikman- see Montana, but exacerbated by the fact that Brady now doubles him in ring count
and the list goes on...
All of the fans that have spoken out? Chances are they have had their hearts ripped out by Tom Terrific sometime in the past 15 years. At the same time, many of them have laughed all the way home with big wins over Peyton.
