With the success the Hornets are having without Lance, would they consider:

Bass and Thornton plus Clippers 1st and Philly's 2nd

for

Stephenson and Biyambo plus Hornets 1st

Charlotte wants to unload Stephenson. I actually think Stephenson would be a good fit in Boston because he is a ball dominant guard (something we kind of could use right now) and really hasn't fit in at all in Charlotte alongside Kemba. I think he would be revived in Boston and his value would increase in a year or two.

Charlotte would get two expiring deals that also fulfill positions of need as they desperately try to make a playoff push. I think they are in an interesting spot because they have been a punch line for so long that they need to make the playoffs again.

Thoughts?

I think he'll be bought out if we can't get a 2nd for him by the deadline.

only for Stephenson.

I think someone like Smart can bring out the best of Stephenson.

Bass and thornton and 2nd for Stephenson and Lavoy Allen

After Wright is gone, we have 4 Bigs, all of them can play 20 - 30 mins, I see no reason to buy out Bass. If there was a good deal available, he would be gone allready. I think it wouldn´t be a bad thing to keep him and just let him expire. This team can use some other veteran presence then GW.

I'd say they will most likely go this route unless a deal falls into their lap. We do need another legit Center so Sully and KO can split PF minutes IMO.

For right now I think Nelson will be the next gone, most likely a buyout.

from a talent perspective, it's not a bad trade.  my concern is Stephenson's attitude.

Also, Charlotte probably won't part with their pick because it's much better than the Clips right now.  would probably have to a year or 2 out.

Lavoy plays for Indy.  how and why are you working him into this deal?

I don't.  I think he'll be kept for a possible sign-and-trade like Humphries if we can't trade him.

That said, I bet we can trade him.  I'd be surprised if Danny didn't already have an offer in hand.

I don't know, there's no longer a logjam with the bigs, so I suspect Bass may go closer to the trade deadline now.

More likely Nelson is the next to go--if teams don't think they can just wait for a buyout.

Thornton probably has to start playing well if there's going to be a hope of moving him. Otherwise, he may get pushed to the back of the rotation after the deadline, which of course isn't ideal for him.

Thornton is thornton. He is streaky. Teams know what they are getting with him

Just say no to known headcases that have not done well after a big contract.

Bass + Thornton to Pelicans for Gordon and their 2017 first round pick would benefit everyone:

Bass and Thornton go to a good team, so Cs keep sending their guys to good situations and building a reputation on that matter.

Pelicans get rid of Gordon's terrible contract, get to compete now and get some financial flexibility.

Celtics take on another terribad contract to pair with Wallace, set themselves for 2016 trade deadline/free agency while they develop their young prospects. With current roster we're not enticing any good player to wear green.

Gordon could be very valuable in 2016, and could regain some trade value if he was put in a good situation (6th man scorer off the bench).

Celtics also would open another roster spot to allocate more prospects or bad contracts coming in with picks by using one of their trade exceptions.

Hate to watch "our" guys go, but hopefully in 2-3 years we'll be glad Danny did this firesale.
