  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
woo hoo!

great chance that this turns into a first pick if Wiggins continues to develop.
Best chances of this turning into a first round pick revolve around:

-making sure Rubio re-signs with Wolves (very likely)
-making sure Thadeus Young opts in. (50/50?)
-Pekovic is healthy (he's under contract till 2017)
-making sure Wiggins becomes a good enough player by the end of his 2nd season to lead them to the playoffs. (somewhat possible)

Wiggins, Rubio, Pekovic...might get us the 14th-15th pick?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

It's defintly a possibility of they stick the course and don't blow it up. Rubio wiggins pek young dieng Lavine martin, if they are healthy and keep improving this could defintly turn out to be a playoff team next year

Good deal. Those 2nd rounders should be early enough to give Ainge a decent shot at landing NBA caliber player.

Why are we certain we won't get a first? Aren't picks 13-14 in the lottery?

Minnesota have been terrible over last few months. Flip Saunders blowing up the team and committing to a long term rebuilding process. Odds of them getting out of the bottom 10 teams in next 18 months are pretty darn slim.

They're sucking this bad with Rubio, Pekovic and Martin out.  Get those three back, have Wiggins in his second year and add another lottery pick...who knows?

Mike

Pekovic, Dieng
K. Towns, Thaddeus Young
Muhammad, Wiggins
Wiggins, Martin
Rubio, Lavine

Looks good but:  They'll have to be well out of the range of pick 12, because if they're anywhere near the borderline of getting a pick within top 12 they'll find a way to make it happen, injury, rest, tank, etc...So I'd say it's 98% that it's the second rounders....

Who is the 3rd team in the Jeff Green deal and what would the Celtics be receiving?

Basically two 2nd round picks...

Sure... Could have been worse.

I keep asking. When are we going to cash in these picks?

Another underrated aspect of this trade is the fact that it makes the Suns better. If they push the Clippers down a playoff spot, or even out of the playoffs altogether (the odds of which people were discussing yesterday), our pick this year looks a whole lot nicer.

Amen. I root on any WC teams b/c a win for them (and losses by Clips) is a win for us!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I agree.    Minny could be really good, though.  I've been impressed with their youth.

2 2nds and a 5mill trade exception for a backup? Yeah, I'm fine with that

No TPE per Woj:

Two second rounders aint  that exciting but I'm just glad to loosen up the log jam.
We have no logjam, just players getting minutes they haven't earned. I'm looking at you, Kelly O.
just curious koz, but exactly in what way are you looking at olly?  ???

The Suns using cap space shouldn't affect whether or not a trade exception is generated for the Celtics.

How old are you Koz?

Because every post you make has the overtone of a grumpy old man shaking a newspaper.

i like koz as a poster, quite a bit. but he does have the "you kids get off my lawn" tone to him.  ;D

Sully/Crowder/Zeller/Bradley/Turner. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2015 Celtics!

We might not win 10 games the rest of the season esp. if we move Bass.

Of course, we'd still beat the 76ers 14 out of 15.
