How do we get Jameer Nelson out of the building?

I swear I just wave him......boot his useless fat little body right out the door and down he road....

He is worth a second  to be shed of him.......

Just on principle alone.

Here's the pick:

Quote
2015 first round draft pick from Minnesota
Minnesota's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-12 in 2015 and 1-12 in 2016; if Minnesota has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Phoenix by 2016, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Phoenix [Minnesota-New Orleans-Phoenix, 7/27/2012]

Noooice!!  A couple 2nd rounders for Wright (can't see Minny finishing outside of the bottom 12 next year despite how great Wiggins looks).   The Rondo package is starting to look good.
Too bad they aren't in the east where you can make the playoffs with a bad record (and lose the protection)
Danny the gambler at it again.

Oh. I am assuming that there's another TPE created by the deal too?

Yes, a $5 million one, which will frankly be difficult to use at this point.

I wonder if it could be used in the ongoing Green to Griz talks somehow.

Assuming it's Tayshaun Prince coming back, it cannot.

What trading Wright for no players in return does do is allow us to take back two players for Green.  Based on the timing of everything, I would not be surprised to see an additional player come over with Prince.

Great. More NBA fringe players.

What exactly did you anticipate Brandon Wright generating as a return?
This forum can be annoying sometimes.

My statement had nothing to do with what I valued Wright. I'm just not getting excited over 2 second round picks.
Well, that pick has enough value to acquire Brandan Wright.

When we are in the need of such a player, picks like this one will have value. Add to that the many good rotation players who have been drafted early second round and we have increased out odds of getting another guy who can contribute down the line when we need it.

Minnesota is missing Rubio, Martin, and Pek right now. With improvement from Wiggins and the other young guys, I don' think it would be a surprise for them to finish out of the bottom 12 next season.

This was a nice trade by Ainge.

They had enough cap room to absorb Wright's contract completely with cap room, so pretty good.  At this point they've got $1-2 million left in room.

Two second rounders aint  that exciting but I'm just glad to loosen up the log jam.
We have no logjam, just players getting minutes they haven't earned. I'm looking at you, Kelly O.

You're probably 4 foot tall. You couldn't look at him without a ladder.

At least one will be an early second almost for sure.

Good deal. Those 2nd rounders should be early enough to give Ainge a decent shot at landing NBA caliber player.

Why are we certain we won't get a first? Aren't picks 13-14 in the lottery?

Minnesota have been terrible over last few months. Flip Saunders blowing up the team and committing to a long term rebuilding process. Odds of them getting out of the bottom 10 teams in next 18 months are pretty darn slim.

How old are you Koz?

Because every post you make has the overtone of a grumpy old man shaking a newspaper.
