  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
I would offer him easily 11-12 mil. He's a strong hustle player who improved his shooting by a lot, can space the floor, and defend one through four. SF or PF, he always does the small impactful things on the court.

I would sell a lot of our picks or trade to move this year in hopes of landing DMC. Two Nets pick, Cavs, our pick in 15 draft, Sullinger, Bradley, Wright or Zeller plus filler for DMC, do whatever we can to nab him while keeping Smart and Young.

Our future would be Smart, Young, Green, KO, and Cousins.

I think it'd be worth it just to hear Fred Toucher's reaction.

Problems:

1. Golden State is probably not going to let Green just walk and I'm pretty sure he likes playing for them (I could be wrong though).
2. Sactown is DEFINITELY not trading DMC. It doesn't matter what offer comes their way. He's arguably the best 2 way big and he's on a bargain contract. As troubled as he is, guys like DMC don't grow on trees.

Yes.

It will be bittersweet for me, but yes, absolutely. Draymond Green is the kind of player everybody would want to have. He won't score in bunches, but he will do everything else with great effort and great result. He will defend (can guard four positions might I add), he will rebound, he will make the right pass, he will make the right decisions on the floor, he won't back down, and he will lead, vocally and by example.

$11-12 million? Sure.

I really like Draymond, but he's the guy you build with, not the guy you build around.

$11-12 million for Draymond Green??   I would absolutely do that if I was the Celts
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

Will be able to be the focus of an offense, right now the Splash Brothers take a lot of pressure off him.

Don't count on it. Kerr calls Green their team's heart and soul and his favorite player. It's even reached a point where they scream F-bombs at each other during games and don't care because they like each other so much.

Read for yourself below:

He may not be a guy that could make us instant contenders, but he's a valuable "glue" guys for the West's best team, and he will probably be paid as such come the offseason.

TP for the dream. I've been thinking s+t for LA in a similar deal. Very nice
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Why would we want to spend $11-12 million on a hustle player?

This is a 20-something win team. It needs guys you can build a team around. Not glue guys.

Especially not high priced $11-12 million a year glue guys.
