In regards to that Dez call.  Bad rule but probably the right call.  The other thing I could've seen there was a catch followed by a fumble.
Can't fumble off the ground in the NFL.

To fumble, you have to be a runner (as opposed to a receiver catching a pass), so you'd be down at the moment the ball hits the ground.

Well, technically it can, if a ball carrier falls without an opponent contacting him.

However, in this instance, that's not the case.  I guess I should've clarified in my previous statement that I thought it was a catch followed by a fumble caused by the ground, which in reality, would not be a fumble and he would be down by contact at the one yard line or wherever the spot would've been.  However, he did lose the ball when extending.  That's what I meant.

I try to avoid football, bores me to death all the standing around... anyways, I did see the Dez play this weekend, and for the first time the CJohnson play the rule is based on.

My reaction:  those are two of the most athletic plays I've ever seen on a football field.
Now I'm reading that the rule was put in place to make the ref's job easier?
seems absurd...

The craziest part of that whole play was that Dez was done in by his own athleticism...he is so freakishly gifted that he was able to high point the ball and reach for the goal line in one motion.  If he just had gone up and caught the ball and landed he would held on I think....

I am so torn on the play, sometimes I see it and I am like that's a catch and other times I can see why they called it incomplete.  Tough to see a season end on a play like that...

Meanwhile Tom Brady is going to his 9th AFC championship game.  Absolutely amazing.

And there are 4 year olds out there that don't know a world where the patriots don't go to the AFC championship

Ridiculous is right. Seattle has no business still having a chance to win this game. Green Bay's second-half defense has been one of the biggest piles of sucky play I've ever seen from a title contender—giving up a 21-yard pass on 3rd-and-19, fumbling the onside kick, not knocking down the jump ball on the 2-pt. conversion.

Lynch should have just fallen on the 1-inch line on that one. Too much time on the clock for Rogers.

Also, it's astounding how well Rogers has played on one leg.

Russell Wilson -- 11/26, 129 yards, no passing TDs and 4 interception.  Amazing.  Rodgers not a ton better.

Pats fans -- who do you want to win with Richard Sherman hurt and Wilson looking pedestrian (at best) today?

When Wilson threw that pick down 12 with 5 minutes left, I said " Oh good, that seals it".

Just interested in making it to the Superbowl. If you want to be the best, you have to be able to beat everyone.
