Boston out: Kelly Olynyk or Jared Sullinger, James Young (If not enough include a first rounder)
Boston in : Nerlens Noel

Lineups (2015-2016):

Celtics: Smart, Bradley, Green, Towns, Noel
Sixers: Mudiay, Carter-Williams, Grant, Sully/Olynyk, Embiid

If we can't get Towns, draft Winslow and start Sully or Olynyk

A man can dream, can't he!?  ;D

Also, why would Green hang around for that?

I think young and Olynyk have the same amount of potential as noel, but noel fits a need.
I like young and I hope he becomes a great player, but the sixers wont give up noel for nothing.
Memphis Grizzlies
PG: Dragic, Ball, Carter
SG: Temple, KCP, Holiday, Washburn
SF: Richardson, Anderson, Parsons, Casspi
PF: Jackson jr, Beasley, Watanabe
C: Adebayo, Green, Noah

Embiids name being brought up is absolutely ridiculous.  What makes you think the sixers would even consider moving joel embiid.  Especially for KO and James Young.  Also, why in the world would we need to trade for a "young rim protector" if you have us drafting Karl Towns.  He would be our Center of the future and a capable rim protector.

But to be honest, as much as I like Nerlens Noel I would just say use our pick to draft a quality center.  Towns, Myles Turner, (Maybe Okafur, doubt it though), even cauley stein if we get a 10-15 draft pick would all be serviceable starting centers.  I say rebuild through the draft because, 1. I like KO as a player 2. I like KO with the players we have around him a lot more 3. I trust Danny Ainge.  But thats just me.  I can see making a move for Nerlens though because with the 2 or 3 extremley touted centers in this years draft class Nerlens is the odd man out.

Celtics Receive: Nerlens Noel, Michael Carter-Williams, Jerami Grant

76ers Receive: Kelly Olynyk, James Young, Avery Bradley, Celtics 2015 First Round Pick (From LAC)

I'm not sold on carter-williams so I would leave out him and bradley

IMO the C's would be giving up the two best prospects--in KO and JY--in that deal.

Any real rim protector will be hard to get.  I'd target Larry Sanders of the bucks,  not sure if he fits in their future or not.

I'd rather keep Young at this point. He could end up being a lights out shooter that we really need and the steal of the draft tin 3 years. Yeah we have to wait 3 years, but the kid is 19 and when he gets a chance to step on the floor, he's not shy about what he can do, and thats shoot.

He just needs to get stronger and learn the D and fast pace of the NBA. He's got the tools for it, and it seems like he has the mind, and being with the C's will help.

KO would be a great PF next to Noel, I wouldn't want to give that up. I think if Noel hits FA, there is a good chance he would put the C's on a short list of teams to go to. It just depends on if he values money over playing for the team he grew up watching.

I wouldn't be surprised if DA makes a move on draft night if we are out of the top 3 for him. With Embiid ready to come back the sixers wont need him and might like to have an other player from the lotto.

I'm pretty sure Sully isn't untouchable and very usable in a trade for either a legit center or high draft pick.

Instead of that mess that you are handing both the Celtics and Bucks while Toronto walks away with two nice players on cheap contracts, why not keep it a little simpler? How about Sanders to the Celtics for Wallace's bad contract, Zeller, and two of our less valuable first round picks? Howver, if Ainge believes that he can get either Towns, Okafor, Cauley-Stein, or Turner in the draft, I don't think that I would make any deal for Sanders.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'd try to see our luck in the draft or Free Agency first before we make trades for a Center, personally.

We could luck out and get Towns or Okafor, or we could sign Asik or Robin Lopez if we overpay for a bit (for Lopez, I would seriously overpay). If we cant get either, then that's probably where we should do some moves.

Yes, I agree with you on your first point but if we aren't in position to draft Towns and can't move up, than we should trade for a young center on draft night.
But I would prefer Noel over Lopez

Its fun to dream.

No way in hell Sixers deal any youth. Zero chance. If they end up with another Top 3 Pick there going to continue building thru the draft.

They are Tanking for the future with draft picks.
