In my opinion, Wrights status isn't getting enough attention as he's set to be a free agent this summer and efficient athletic bigs are always in high demand. Not to mention this will be Wright's only real chance in his career to cash in.

If I'm Ainge, I'm aggressively shopping him in hopes of flipping him for something. I have no interest in seeing him walk this summer or overpaying him.

If we can SOMEHOW flip him at the deadline for a late first, I would be ecstatic. We also have some other useful expiring veterans that we could include with him to make something happen.

This trade didn't make a lot of sense from the Cs perspective unless we get another first or he totally explodes and becomes a legit starting center.

Interesting idea, not sure either team bites

Cs trade Green and Wright

LAC trade Jordan and Bullock

If the Cs are paying big money to a player it might as well be a legit starting center. This trade would get the Cs bird rights to Jordan. Jordan, Sully, And KO could possibly be the 3 big rotation for the next 5 years. The Cs could then try to make a run at Butler in the offseason or fill the SF role in the draft. How good would a potential starting team on Smart, AB, Butler, Sully and Jordan be?

For the clippers they get a legit SF that they desperately need. Wright and Hawes then platoon the center position.

He's played what 12 minutes.

Lets give this guy a chance, he's something we really need. It's nice to have a guy that can play PF and Center that can protect the rim, play serviceable defense, and score a little. Don't forget both our power forwards have lead feet, and are questionable on D, at best.  Our starting center is more of a backup type.

I'd like to see him at times playing center with KO at PF.

With him being a free agent at the end of the season, and just being traded, I don't know what we can expect to get for him.

At first I thought you meant Caron Butler haha. But yes if its Jimmy Butler I like that lineup, assuming Smart develops into his 2nd year as well as continued or better play from AB, Sully, and KO
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I sincerely doubt a) the Clippers agree to this deal and b) the Bulls let Butler go) but imagine if both were true. Now imagine if the C's took Stanley Johnson with their pick in the upcoming draft.

In a few years, would anyone be able to score on:

Smart
Butler
Stanley Johnson
Sully
D. Jordan

with Bradley, Young, Olynyk and Zeller coming off the bench? Even Sully would be putting up All-Defensive stats!

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

Ditto.  Those are the types of contracts that kill a team.

$12mil? Huh?

Regardless, Wright is highly likely to be traded again by February.

No one is giving him more than $8M. No one. He simply doesn't work as a starter on a good team. He's not 23. All the other teams know what he is, which is a very productive backup big.

Given what Jordan Hill got paid I fear we're due for a few of those soon...
