I love all of our current bigs. Kelly's slump a couple weeks back was very concerning but he's emerged with enough good play that he's clearly got to be kept. I love Sully and I think he's a guy who will perform well under playoff pressure. I love Bass. Zeller was a great get. And I love the new guy Wright.
Of course, the Celtics new style of play under Brad Stevens (or any coach) will not be successful without better defense in the middle. So the above situation obviously has to change. Everyone agrees we need some combination of Okafor, Towns, Gasol, DeAndre Jordan, and Embiid. Let's call that center JEGOT (first letter of each last name) If we got one of the above loads then Sully is the most likely guy to be traded IMO since those guys would provide the heft that Sully brings.
JEGOT, Zeller, Wright
Oly, Wright
Are there any other "big load" centers who can take the place of JEGOT? Dakari Johnson?
Is Myles Turner a big load? Who would Myles Turner displace?
If instead we got Willie Cauley Stein, less of a load but more athletic, then I'm guessing we keep Sully and jettison Wright, for a future bigs picture of:
WCS, Zeller, Oly
Sully, Oly
Another guy who might displace Wright is Porzingis, I'm guessing.
When Sully proves his worth again as this season roles along I'm guessing he would bring a good asset in a trade, certainly more than Wright. But as always it depends on offers and roster fit.
