I am not saying that younger guys like Smart, Sullinger, Olynyk, or Young won't pass him eventually, though they may not, but he is a polished above the rim player. He is a career 60% field gold guy who also shoots about 70% from the foul line, a very rare commodity. So many of these above the rim guys are bricklayers from the line. A PER of almost 26 is also quite impressive. I have been complaining about the lack of above the rim presence with Sullinger, Olynyk, and Zeller and this is a good start to rectify that problem with his one and one half blocks per game in only 18 mpg. I would love to see him play 30+ minutes a night to see if he can be our long term solution at the 4. Pair Wright with a solid rim protector at center and our interior defense might be solidified. Someone like Asik would be someone to consider, though Robin Lopez would be my first choice. Wright makes $5 million on an expiring contract. If he plays well, an offer of $8 million per seems reasonable.
