Thornton to Toronto for Landry Fields and Greg Stiemsma and a future 2nd rounder. Waive Pressey.

Bass to Portland for Dorrell Wright and Thomas Robinson and a future lottery protected 1st. Waive Fields.

You could make the Portland pick like the Philly  pick Where it becomes two future 2nds.

I think these are the type of trades Danny is looking for. Trade Bass and Thornton to playoff contenders.  Get back lesser productive players that are also expiring contracts

I agree about Nelson, but he has to stay for 2 months correct?  We need either him or Pressey.  Waive him and we eat money owed next year.

As far as Steemer, he's just a throw in. Could use him as a 3rd string center instead of keeping Landry Fields as a 4th or 5th string SF.

If Portland considered Bass an upgrade over Robinson, I don't think a late first is too much to ask. Maybe we just get a 2nd for Bass, or the rights to swap firsts if there's is better than our Clips pick?  Dorrell Wright won't matter to them, he can be waived by Celtics upon arrival.

your trade takes on four new players while removing only three. who else goes?

Waive Pressey, trade 2 for 1 with Toronto.

Waive one of the Toronto players, then trade 2 for 1 with Portland?

Could also do the Bass for Jason Terry trade? Try to get Capela for Pressey in the deal?  Or get the rights to swap picks with them if their Hornets pick is better than our Clippers pick?

Might be a way to pry the Hornets pick out of them.

no point to either trade.  we're not getting back a good young player nor a decent pick AND we have to eat the cost of a player contract that we would have to waive.

Bass isn't fetching a first rounder from any team.

There is absolutely no scenario that I can think of where reacquiring Jason Terry would be a good idea.  It's called a repressed memory - now drop it! ;) ;D

Portland would not do it...

We can and should buy Nelson out at less than his full contract.  Then he can try to land with a contender for vet minimum.
