One thing his new teammates will have to learn is to expect the ball at any time. They do not seem to be used to that yet as they have fumbled some good passes. First time out spurs up 13-10. Rondo = no points, no assist, no rebound, and one turnover.

Rondo on the Mavs has a Tiny Archibald on Celtics early 80s feel to it ...

Nice midrange bank shot by Baynes. Had a good hook shot earlier as well.

Just tuned in. He does look to be dominating the ball more than Dallas would like.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
He seems to be fitting well. Great pass to Jefferson.

LOL Pop is sitting five starters including Mills, Duncan, Leonard. He should be fined for stuff like this.

Mills has been injured all season, due back mid Jan. Leonard has a torn (strained?) tendon in his hand, has already missed a couple of games. Duncan has played 2, 3OT games in a row I think it is safe to say he should be sitting at his age.

Derek Harper is the Mavericks color guy, and he is waxing poetic about Rondo. He says he likes the deal even if Rondo is not a scorer. He said anytime you have a chance to get the best passer in the league you go for it. He likes it!!!
... Mavs didn't need the best passer in the league.   They already had the highest scoring and most efficient offense in the league.  Rondo has the potential to hurt them.

There's nothing wrong with adding more star power to the team.

Mills isn't a starter, either.  And Parker is injured.

And Rondo was added less to enhance the offense and more for his defensive and rebounding capabilities.

I know Jefferson isn't the same player he was in New Jersey but Rondo should enjoy passing to him on cuts because he's a smart player.

So far, a little bit of ball dominating but nothing extreme. He did try to grab a rebound a teammate clearly had secured already, hehe.

Saw one possession where Rondo's guy clearly cheated way off him to run into the paint and they made the correct past back to Rondo who was cutting to the basket but he ended up losing the ball.

Seems like a little more effort on D but he did sometimes lose his guy a little too much on screens. Didn't hurt the Mavs a huge amount so far though. He did take a charge! on one play.
