1. Best player on the team

2. Gotta pay somebody to play for you (unless you are the Sixers)

3. Need a 3rd wheel after we find our two stars

4. Need a proven scorer while these young guys grow.

5. He is only 28 years old.

6. How many draft picks, expiring contracts, and young players do we need to acquire to make some deals?  Don't we have enough already?

I wouldn't but that's my opinion.
Rather trade him or let him go if you ask me. Why not try and use the "Thunder" model and draft good players when the draft comes by? It worked for Oklahoma and the last thing we need is Jeff winning us some games ::)

If we got a pick for him this year in the 12-15 range, I would take that.

"Gotta pay somebody."

Not for multiple years, you don't.

The team plays ten points better when Green is on the bench.

Let him go.

Keeping him is only going to make us pick later in the draft. We also might be able to get more for Green than Rondo given his play lately. I say sell Green, Bass, Thornton for anything getting us further assets and not tacking on future salary.

He is the best player for sure, but hard to see how he can stay in this team, after trading Perk, PP, KG, Rondo and sending out Ray...

Green is young enough and just getting into his prime. If our goal is to win as soon as possible to build a positive mentality then we should keep Green provided he can buy into being lead by guys younger than himself. I think he never had the desire to be an alpha player and may embrace leadership from Marcus or whichever young guy steps into the breach.

Funny thing is green is 28 and considered young enough.  Rondo is 28 or 29 and there was all sorts of talk that he was too old, would have his game fall off soon etc
But I digress.  I'm all for keeping green but hecan opt out.  This means Ainge is going to more than likely move him.
Why would green stay in green.?  He'll get more money on open marketAND the loyalty card means little to Ainge so I'm sure greens agent will be looking for best situation for. Jeff.  He'll immediately help a playoff team either this year via trade or next year opting out
Why would green stay in green

3. Need a 3rd wheel after we find our two stars

If that third wheel gets overpaid in free agency this off-season, does that make it harder to find your two stars?

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Chances are he's gone.

Sad, because I like him. I think he's a good player in his current contract. But if Rondo can be dealt for chump change, Green would be too.

Dealer Ainge is probably going to go demolish-rebuild. I wish we keep him. He's a good SF.

Well if Green is gone, it will be closer to the trade deadline.   Would be nice to see what James Young could do with more mins

13 million a year for 4 years. I hope he signs.

If not i wonder if the GSW would be interested in green and willing to trade harrison barnes. I like Tobias Harris also

Rockets could give us tjones who can play some sf
