For those interested Danny's comment was "we clearly gave up the best player in this trade which is not something we philosophically like to do."
(My bold)

then why did they do it?
Probably because letting a good player go for nothing is something they like to do even less
I trust Danny Ainge

First thing they teach you at philo seminars (at least in Oxford) is that philo is completely unrelated to what happens in the real world.  Like, philosophically speaking, social justice is a human right.

is Smart playing tonight? Young is still out right?

Young and Thorn will be out for weeks to come. They said last week they will give Young 3 weeks and see how it's going and whether he will need surgery or not (they don't think he will). Thorn has a small tear in his calf  (I think), last week they said 2 weeks... who knows when he will be back.

thanks

Tonight's the night this team proves that it's too good to tank with.

Quick thought:

I still expect Ainge to target someone to spend money on, to go alongside Green. I think Greg Monroe is a good target.

It's better to spend money on a center, than on a point guard (Rondo). Especially when we have Marcus Smart, cost controlled, for the next 4-years.

Avery Bradley has the most tenure of the current C's.

Rondo was the last guy left from the title team, but maybe even crazier is that Avery, Bass, and Green are the only guys left who played with the Big 3 at all  :o

(Sully came in the KG/Pierce year)

Green will gone by Feb.

I was so sad Bass was not in the Rondo deal.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

That is crazy. Someone needs to start a thread putting the roster turnover in perspective, like one of those " The average college freshman has never seen a rotary phone and Jay Leno has always hosted the Tonight's Show( well that's a bad example)"

Michael Jackson was dead a year before the longest tenured Celtic joined the organization. Okay, that's lame....
